Accident Sunday Sept 11th Brownwood Road

They had gone on around the curve and then wrecked about 75 feet from the intersection at a 90 degree angle. If they had gone straight on off in the field or creek it would have been better.
People just don't pay attention like they should - too many cell phones and gps units.

The best sign to heed is the one that says " Be Prepared to Stop"

I here and see the Dot leaning on shovels most of the time.

Isnt there a sign before hand that warns of an upcoming stop? You know, the yellow warning signs with a red octagon. Usually the DOT is pretty good about having these up if a stop may not be the most visible before you are on top of it.

I would lean to the opinion that it was probably not a problem with the signs.

They need a sign saying WARNING STOP SIGN AHEAD, etc. These folks are from Texas I think and may not have known the road, but they must have been flying. I hope that the child is OK.

I did not say there was a problem with the road or sign people under estimate their speed or are not paying attention. By the time they fiqure it out they are going to fast to make the turn or get stop in time and they only place they can go is off into the mans field. Nowhere did I say anything was wrong with the road period

Nowhere else to go? You can Stop like the sign says - then turn right or left. Just poor driving skills here. Not a problem with the road or signs.

This is the second time that a accident at that intersection has cause damage to the farmers storage tent. Theres at least one accident a year there as people come flying down the hill and can't get stop in time and there is nowhere else to go

I saw the cleanup, coming back from Deep Gap. It looked pretty bad.

My guess is that the driver of the Rodeo took the turn too fast, and didn't realize that SUVs are top heavy and will flip at the drop of a hat. You're right that they probably didn't stop at the stop sign.

My soon to be driving teen and I were driving past this accident and she wondered how it happened? Did the driver miss the stop sign/end of cranberry road? I am not looking for whether the people were pink or purple or names, I just want to educate a future driver. I am not sure what direction they came from....cranberry road or brownwood road? Thanks in advance.
