This country is going to **** in a hand basket, no matter who or what party sits in the White House..

Just think what a great country we would have if John McCain and Sarah Palin had won

I think that most people on both sides agree more than they realize. Yes everyone has different ideology, that doesn't mean people should be divided.

That is pretty much what I was saying. We are accepting less and less from our fellow citizens, companies, employees, government. All to easy for everyone to just say "OK then" whenever we are presented something les than what we expected or were told that we would get. And that feeds the downward spiral because people keep accepting less and less. But everybody gets all excited when their new phone takes great pictures and has a larger than eve variety of ring tones available. Sad. But we weren't that far from agreeing after all were we Heels.

No, I don't accept mediocrity, however I don't think we have grown as a nation for sometime. Does not mean we are not great, but rather we have not pushed our country to new heights.

Heels, you have learned to accept the mediocrity that is what we have now. If you think that is great, then it I in fact great. For you. Not so much for me. I too am middle of the road, but I do pull a bit to the conservative side of things. At least fiscally anyway.

How much money do you give your church Heels?

I don't know about you, I think we live in a pretty darn Great country. I woke up this morning with the same freedom I had yesterday. I am grateful for that everyday. I can speak openly about the problems of our government and never worry about being thrown in jail. I go to Church on Sunday and worship as I see fit. The tax burden I have I feel is too much, not because of the money I pay, but because of the waste we see in government. We have the greatest military in the world and the most dedicated men an women ready to fight without question for our safety when they are called upon.

Many of our issues aren't threatening our country, however the inability to govern the country and address these issues does threaten our country's strength.

I am a middle ground person. Find Compromise and move this country forward. We have to stop name calling and work together.

I'm not going anywhere, Up. Heels, I never said that I the hate the president, even though I have no use for him. There are only two people on the face of this earth that I truly hate and he isn't one of them, as worthless as I think that he is. The fact that he won two elections is a very sad commentary on the thinking that the majority (yes, the majority) of the people in this country have come to use. And absolutely agree with you that the Dems and Reps of prior days would be very ashamed if they could see what has happened. The US of A is in big trouble. We still are the best of the countries available to live in, but we are not the GREAT one that we used to be, and I fear that we will never again reach that height.

As much as you hate him he has won 2 elections. Your opinions do not reflect the majority of the country. I don't agree with him on everything, but he has never been allowed to govern. Some day maybe we can get some common sense back in our government. Reagan and Eisenhower would be ashamed of their party and Truman and Kennedy would be ashamed of theirs.

Be careful Carman. Those libs will be calling you a racist. A person of no vision. A person with a closed mind. All that crap they love to spew. I suppose I can understand why maybe lot of people voted for him the first time around. I can't for the life of me understand it the second time. And, of course he is not running again but it will take a decade or more unscrew what he screwed up. And so far, all the Rep side has come up with is this Cruz farce who is as screwed up as Obamy is, only in the other direction. I swear Canada is looking better after every election we have. And the majority of the US citizens really don't give a hoot one way or the other.

A Coil of Rage

The character of any man is defined by how he treats his mother as the years pass...need I say more about this person below other than there is no character, no integrity but there is a ton of attitude and arrogance that defines his shallow past and hollow future...

I bought and read Obama's book, Audacity of Hope. It was difficult to read considering his attitude toward us and everything American. Let me add a phrase he used to describe his attitude toward whites. He harbors a "COIL OF
RAGE". His words not mine.

THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT --Is anyone out there awake?

Everyone of voting age should read these two books by him: Don't buy them, just get them from the library.

from Dreams From My Father:
"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

from Dreams From My Father:
"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

from Dreams From My Father:

"There was something about her that made me wary, a little too sure of herself, maybe and white."

from Dreams From My Father:
"It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

from Dreams From My Father:
"I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

And FINALLY......and most scary:

from Audacity of Hope:

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
