Never give an entity like the Hospital or other non-profit a serious sum of money without an annual audit and a seat on said's board.
The County Manager or Finance Director should see it, and then treat it like a "trade secret" as long as the audit is okay. Otherwise the money could be used for frills by allowing said frill to be funded elsewhere.

The $500000 was to help stability. Part of that may have been to stabilize the workforce by offering competitive salaries to keep talent and hire new talent. If used wisely offering a 3% raise and asking for 500k should not be out of the question.

Normally it takes about 6-9 months after the return date to be posted. I have worked with many non-profits for almost 50 years.

Aw, Creston Flash has provided a link to an as filed 990 for AMH. You'll note this is for the tax year ending 9/30/13. I believe that AMH has decided to change their fiscal year ending date, so the next 990 you see may be for 12 months 3 months or 15 months, just depends on how the IRS code is applied. Looks like top 5 paid employees are all medical providers of some sort MD, DO or PA. Ms. Lambeth works for Novant, so you'll not see her compensation listed individually on the 990. At some point you'll see what Novant is being paid for their management duties, from the linked 990 QHR, old old management company, was paid $330,000 or there abouts which included management fee and compensation and benefits for the previous CEO Williams.

As a private not-for-profit organization the salaries of the employees of Ashe Memorial are not available to the public. There is limited information available through the IRS, since not-for-profits have to file a 990 form listing the total compensation of the top 5 employees and some others on the payroll. Guidestar is one service which lists the 990's on line or you are entitled to request a copy of the most recent filing from the Administration of the organization.

JT the CEO and Administrator are the same person at AMH, with only 25 beds and the nursing home gone I doubt they would need both.

Basking | Posted 7:33 pm, 04/17/2015 | I don't know about the one here, but I've never heard of a good experience at a doc in a box in other places. I've talked to people that have gone to the one in Boone on a weekend, and tried ones when on vacation. And in every case they were either incorrectly diagnosed or given a treatment they didn't work, and they all had to go see their regular doctor when they got back home or regular hours rolled around. Hope this one is better, but I'd say odds are against it. |
I have been to three doc in a box facilities with very good results. Once in Idaho, once in Wilkes. Both prescribed needed medications, in Illinois they sent me straight to the hospital with a blood clot. No complaints.

Pie technically you are correct. But the money came from the 1/4 cent sales tax increase and will only be paid to the hospital for 3 years after which the mouth breathers will blow it some place else. They never told it was for only 3 years until after the fact.

I would hope you would have a good experience there after $600,000 of our tax dollars went to keeping it running.
