Those are data only. That's totally different. Especially since cc processing has very strict security requirements.

CWW is not totally comparable with Verizon. I have two wireless credit card readers that will not work loin CWW. I have to drive to an area served by Verizon to batch out at the end of the day. I process card sales and hope the charge is good

Flash, those were problems seen by customers of previous generation systems. By this point, the technology is worked out to be seemless between carriers. Given current systems, CWW customers roaming on any major carrier are much less likely to have a problem than say a Verizon customer roaming on CWW. And even more, if the CWW customer has a problem roaming, it is more likely caused by CWW's system than by the larger carrier.

I'd really suggest everyone in the local area pick a larger, national carrier, except that some tests have found CWW to throttle back data transmission to non cww customers. Some feedback has also shown that they provide special signal preference to their own customers versus other carrier customers with compatible technology. Basically, if a customer will have a large percentage of their use originating in the CWW area, they may find better performance if they pick CWW as their provider.

Well sitting in the NE corner of the Walmart parking lot will get you arrested .

Verizon leases space from CWW on their towers in much of Ashe County. While CWW is the local company we found once the kids started leaving the area to go to school and their calls were no longer originating locally we were being charged with roaming fees on our CWW plan. We switched to Verizon with the same coverage in the county and what I feel is a better plan for out of home area calling.

On a good day you can park in the NE corner of the Walmart parking lot and get an ATT signal.

Your only 2 reliable choices here are Carolina West Wireless and Verizon. Since you say you travel a lot, I would probably go with Verizon.

My honey has used US Cellular for a good while and I've not heard any complaints from her about service.

Fins in theory you are right but I have had the misfortune it'd being out of town and CWW would not work on Verizon. I had to get back in the CWW service area for a reset. This happened multiple times. One occasion I had to buy a prepaid phone and have CWW forward my number to it. Plus they have a very large collection of clueless idiots working there

CWW and Verizon use the same technology, so anywhere one works, so will the other. And the reason you think smart phones work better than old flip phones is because the companies have over time filled in most holes. But the truth is, the old analog phones actually had longer range than the digital phones now.

Forget CWW if you travel. I have gotten out of state and ended up with no service. Verizon it's by far your best bet.

CWW or Verizon are the two best choices. If you do a lot of traveling, I have found CWW does not work in Indianapolis, Louisville, and is spotty in Nevada and California. Here in the mountains either one can be spotty, but both are the best choice.

I use Verizon and have used it from California to Florida to Baltimore and even a few spots at home here in Ashe County. Most service can be spotty around the county. The smart phones work better than the old flip models and everything works in and around the populated (?) areas. Your only real choices up here are Carolina West or Verizon.

Forget Sprint, you'd be better off with two tin cans and a string..

I have CWW and it works fine all the way down to southern Florida and as far north as Chicago and as far west as Wyoming

I am new to Ashe County and my cell service with AT&T doesnt work up here. I travel for work so I need something reliable, not sure how well CWW is out of state and on the coast. Does anyone know if Sprint works well up here? Thanks.
