No I think the bank did the right thing by securing the note with fire trucks and the property. The hose jockeys need to make responsible decisions.

That was bad banking - by Yadkin. They should have secured the tax receipts from both counties by an non revocable pledge from the county commissioners against the note.

Our friends at Yadkin bank did the loan to the church. When they had to file foreclosure on the hose jockey fire club of Todd I realized no paper is safe.

I'd bet that several local banks bid on the loan to help them meet their CRA goals for the Feds. Church loans are usually good paper. You don't see many sold on the courthouse steps

I forgot they bought that property. I remember now wondering how that little congregation came up with $115k and the ability to get a note for $350k

Pub if the past due 40 year flood comes it will baptize the new joint.
Seems they owe 350 grand plus interest.

Looks like they are North of the 500 year flood line. They gave $115,000 for 6 acres? Wow, the good Lord duth provide well on 163.

They built on that river land. May get to do it all over again when the past due 40 year flood comes through again. And I dont think they put flotation devices in the plans. I need to look up and see if they have a d/t. They kept it pretty close to the cuff if they got any insurance out of the barbecue.

They should have sentenced him and the others to hard labor working on building the new church. Or did that bunch ever find a new spot to build?
