Congress Should Secretly Suspend 2nd Amendment Rights Says UCLA Professor

Two events led to the tragedy in Orlando (and well most mass shootings in the last decade).

1. It was a Gun Free Zone, by depriving those in the bar including owner, employees and patrons the right to carry weapons the government created a situation wherein they were victims due to their deprived 2nd Amendment rights. Statistically speaking in a mass shooting if a victim is armed, even just one, the death toll drops to below 3 on average.

The per capital gun death rate during the Wild West was less than a tenth of what it is today, and they all carried guns into saloons back then, but you knew everyone was armed and had friends as well. So it's a false argument to say that guns should be excluded because of the business establishment.

2. Numerous warning flags were raised that should have prevented the shooter from doing as they wanted. In Orlando there were numerous flags about the shooter's racists, h*mophobic and sexists attitudes and comments that would have gotten most white men fired from the job. His job is what allowed him access to a Sig Sauer MCX Carbine. Without that Security job he never could have gotten that gun because it's normally a US Special Forces gun. His job allowed him to get one since his security company is charged with defending the US Nuclear sites. The FBI had had the Orlando Mosque he attended under surveillance in the years after he was first reported by coworkers. However the Obama Administration not only pressured the FBI to end that surveillance, they also had all records of it destroyed. Just a month prior to the shootings an Imam at that Mosque gave a speech that stated that killing h*mosexuals was the will of Allah. He had given a similar speech back in 2013 at the same mosque. Thus due to the overly PC nature of the Obama Administration this man was allowed to shoot and kill so many.

Yes what a good idea. A bunch of drunk people in a bar with guns. What could go wrong?

If the bar/club had not been in a Gun Free Zone as established by the State of Florida and CIty of Orlando then the patrons could possibly have defended themselves.

Bill Clinton said if any patrons had been armed the death toll would have been even higher.

Gun control no more caused the tragedy than the actual gun did. There are common sense solutions, that do not require anyone to lose their 2nd amendment rights. However, we have to be willing to actually use our brains and come up with ideas that do not come from the NRA or the extreme liberal gun control advocates.

Yes because there's no danger either in being in a crowded dance club at 2AM with everyone packing, loud music, etc. My understanding was that there was an armed security guard. There are no easy answers but I am darned tired of us not being able to have a civil conversation about what's reasonable as pertains to weapons and ammunition. No one is trying too take anyone's guns......ain't going to happen. But there are rational things that can be considered that might prevent some deaths.

They couldn't if they tried. Gun Control combined with Islamic ideology is what caused the events in Orlando. If the bar/club had not been in a Gun Free Zone as established by the State of Florida and CIty of Orlando then the patrons could possibly have defended themselves. Statistically when people can defend themselves the number of deaths to a potential mass shooting drop below 3. The bouncer was trained MMA, but fist and foot don't do much against a gun especially if the guys spent months casing the place and knows who to shoot first.
