Sounds like the town was just nice enough to let him hang his barney patch so he wouldn't lose it. The sheriff obviously wouldn't which speaks volumes.

Someone said before that the town said he worked two or three days a year. That's one month and a couple of days experienced er the time. Not 11years.

There is a simple solution to all this back and forth girl chatter.. Let the voters of Ashe decide who they think will best serve the position...

In that eleven years how much actual police work has been done. I mean jefferson police auxiliary, how much law enforcement experience does that count for. How many cases has he investigated and solved? How many arrest? Since 2002 Ashe County has exploded with crime, drugs, population and almost every other aspect of life. What experience doe he have with law enforcement and the issues facing today's officers?
