Now the gov't is telling us that there is no need to worry because Ebola is harder to spread than the flu because it I not airborne like the flu. But, Ebola is deadly, the flu in most cases is not. What causes me the most worry is that the gov't leaders are saying there is nothing to worry about. That alone makes me very suspicious. I don't think that bunch of Federal Mouth Breathers could organize a healthy dump at 7AM, let alone organize an effective plan for this problem. By my way of thinking, the good ol' Barney Fife method is best at this point. Do not allow peope who have been in the effected areas in the past 3 weeks enter our country. To quote Barney--"Nip it in the bud. Nip it. Nip it."

If we had a Surgeon General we would not need an Ebola Czar. How does he introduce himself? Hi I am the Ebola Czar and puts his hand out to shake. eewwh !

This hysteria reminds me of the Swine Flu back in the 70's.

"today a human can fly 550 miles per hour."

I've hit 600 a time or two....

With a tail wind.

King, a Surgeon General would help, but the problem is structural - the US is not set up to proactively respond to anything. Our system of government does not allow it because we don't have a Unitary structure like Great Britain.

The two-party political system does not reward being proactive, it rewards stalling and stalemate. We have an 18th century construct and attempt to run in the 21st Century.

The speed of human travel in the 1770's was the speed of a single horse, today a human can fly 550 miles per hour.

If finding an Ebola vaccine had been a priority, had there been money in it for a pharmaceutical company, we would have a vaccine now. There was no money in it. Some folks will die. It's no different than the NC DOT refusing to fix a dangerous intersection because they say it will cost too much

The United States needs a very well funded, very large, governmentally run Pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity, but that would step on the private sector's toes. Remember, making money is the most thing in the United States, not public health, not security, etc. When there is no money in it, it will not happen in our systems.

If you stop those savages in Africa from eating monkeys, bats, and the rest of the filthy crap they eat we would not be having this conversion or aids.

This whole Ebola thing, is why the Senate needs to quit bickering and confirm a Surgeon General. It is the Surgeon General's job to be the front man on all National Health issues. We have not had one in over a year.

It's not a medical or research issues that is the problem with Ebola, it's a coordination and turf problem.

We live in a Federal System and the State's regulate their hospitals. Each county has a health department of some kind. The boarders and airports are supervised by TSA, and the Homeland Security. Medical issues are addresses by Health and Human Services.

The CDC does not regulate hospitals - they provided guidance and recommendations, but they have not authority to penalize a hospital for screwing up in fact the only "penalty" that hospitals receive is a ding to their Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements for high re-admit rates. The very issue with the guy in Dallas.

The coordination of all the various levels of government and various government agencies does not take a medical doctor nor would a medical doctor likely be adept at that.

On top of the problems created by Federalism, many hospitals in the U.S. are run for a profit even though they may present themselves as a not for profit. In that type of system the incentives are to cut costs and save money. In Dallas, the Nurses were not provided with the adequate contamination suits - in fact an illegal alien cleaning up an asbestos laden building in the United States gets a better haz-mat suit.

Again, none of this issues requires or can be addresses by a medical doctor or an egg head researcher. These problems are administrative, political, and financial.

I've known a few nurses. Related to a couple. For the most part around here there are two types of nurses. Bible bangers and complete sl*ts.

I might have to believe the CEO.

What should the Obalo patients? Same thing they do in the kennels around here. Problem solved.

There are nurses protesting that they are not being trained and outfitted. Then the ceo calls them liars. I have no doubt who I believe.

Saw that Joe. The authorities are saying they use full suits to "assure citizens that they are taking every precaution." However it seems to me with a nurse in Spain, one in Dallas and several in West African countries infected while using basic protective equipment that the health care workers should be wearing full suits as well.
