Some female standing at the Walmart entrance today, holding a sign needing gas and food.. I believe instead of gas or food she would stand a better chance catching a ride on the bang bus!!!

Still a book of fairy tales no matter the language.

Yes, I understand that but there are great tools for researching the original Hebrew text and its meaning.

The bible was first written in Hebrew. It was later translated to Greek. There is no way to translate the book to english from Hebrew when the language didnt even exist.

But we can agree, religious clergy keep their members in the dark with one verse sermons. They preach to keep the money flowing.

Thats where we differ dog. I understand your problems with religion, but I think there is meaning there you just have to understand the context. And the translation was excellent. There are English translations other than the King James and older. All are close to the early greek text.

You cant even come close to deciphering those bible verses. You spotted one word and think that word give you your explanation. The bible was written in a language when the english language did not even exist. It was then half a%% translated into english. So you , the preacher, the deacon have no idea what the original verse was. The book was also translated to keep you in check by the preachers. If you were to step back and forget the preacher you will see I am right.

I figured that was your next verse. Know the difference between tithing and giving. Yes we should give, not because of Church requirement, but as God has placed a burden in our hearts. Now, are you giving to your Church? Most probably call it giving or offering, but they teach it as tithing. Also, what do you give? No where does this say money, silver, or gold. It doesn't even say give to a church. It might be neighbor, a stranger. Not to the minister, or grand shows, or concerts, whatever crazy man-made religious activity that does nothing to honor God.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Again, the New Testament is the establishment of the Church of Christ. Should we not follow his teachings?

Render therefore unto Caesar thing's which are Caesar's, and unto God things that are Gods.

And I am sure God has blessed you but it is not because of your tithing.

Like I said you do what you want and I will do what GOD tells me to do.

I will answer that, no. He is pointing out to the Pharisee that he had not kept the law. The law was never given to anyone except the Jews. Jesus fulfilled the law so that we didn't have to. You can't take verses out of context. He is denouncing the Pharisee and lawyer he us dining with, not making a commandment to the Church. Try again.

You do you and I will do according to what God puts on my heart. I didn't tithe for years. I struggled to make ends meet. I decided I would start giving what God asked of me. Now I have more than I deserve. So I will continue to do so.

Are you a Pharisee?

Luke 11:42

But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

This verse says that it isn't amount, but you should tithe.

The New Testament church was simple. Sing songs of praise, pray to God, Teach the Gospel. Thats it, no missions, no sunday school, womens retreats, no Tithing, no fancy churches. Just Jesus Christ, thats it. So now we have large social clubs and political lobbying groups, all doing so in the name of God. Using tactics to scare people into religion. Its sad, and Ashe County is full of it.

No, you are doing it the way your "Church" instructs you. Read the Bible, understand what they are saying. Teaching half truthes, just like Tithing. It was not part of the New Testament church. Tithing was not part of most churches until the 1800s. Why was it started? Why did men add something that wasn't needed for 1800 years.

Its the most ill written book ever published. Done so by design so the preacher can tell you what it says. Ask 5 preachers and get 5 different answers. You should spend the time you are talking to god helping someone cut wood, get groceries in etc... All of you would gain something then.

You hoggish people get a pile of cash in the bank and go blow it on the church building just to make it better than the church down the street. When you should be helping the poor and disabled.

Think what you want. I read my Bible and pray to God daily. I listen to the preacher and pray about what God wants me to take from it.
