Not really, mom and dads taught me in the third grade not to respond or hang around with stupid people. They said " you know how when you shine your shoes and some of the polish gets on your hands? ". Stupid rubs off just like that.
Sorry dog, the ole county of Watauga voted "no signs" on the Doc Watson Expressway. Teh one or two that are grandfathered were over on the old 421.
The fire department has finally got the appraisal on their fire house. The county has hinted around that the old playground at the school might work for them. The state advised them to wait and see what the remainders of some of the other properties next door looked like. There is really no hurry as that road is at least 6 years down the calendar.
The four lane when completed will give us an open window for the opportunity to grow our tourism. We should have already purchased/leased land around the 421/221 exchange and placed signs advertising our tourism with the hope of grabbing some going to Boone.
Has the fleetwood fire jockeys bunch located a new home yet or are they still sitting on their ignorant butts still thinking the state will go around them?
Jobs may come when companies see that the County, State and local residents are willing and able to provide the needed infrastructure and talented workforce needed for their business. So long as folks continue to bemoan the fact that the "County is changing" and "I don't understand why?" you won't see many new jobs arrive.
You won't see any new factories arriving any time soon if at all, Ashe is to far removed from major transportation hubs and technology centers.
The 221 expansion has been discussed and cussed for the last 20 years, if you wanted to cut wood for the poor and or provide housing for the homeless you should have been working on it well before now securing your new land to locate the houses on and having the crews on hand available immediately to clear cut the projected route and move the wood well ahead of the excavation crews, all at no cost to the contractor.
It is waste there is a lot that can be done to help people of Ashe. So we get a new road so what , when are the jobs coming? Might as well give the houses and wood to people .
Been there done that. Trying to convert currency while drinks my and trying to use my poor handling of the local language to figure out the hourly rate she said. Yep, I learned to do those negotiations on paper
I don't care how bad off someone is, do they really want to screw around with used mini blinds? No matter what you do, after a couple years they always are dirty and look like crap.
