So only do the towns pay for all the services the county is doing for them?

Surry county recently tried to hire the head building inspector from Alleghany (my understanding they have only 2) and Alleghany raised his salary 36% to get him to stay. They have say back over there working employees for 1980 salaries and they are leaving like a fly to a turd. They pay a barney 6K bucks a year less then Ashe.

Dag several years ago it was Bobby Reed, till he was fired/quit for showing preferential treatment to his contractor brother. Last I heard they had hired a guy from Allegheny County who had the appropriate FM certification to inspect major jobs. I'm relatively sure the County Fire Marshal performs the inspections for the Towns.

I saw that too and let it fly over my head. While someone is answering the question let me throw this one in. Who was doing the work for the towns? Who does the fire marshall duties for the towns?

Well, watch for another sales tax increase or something so they can keep telling everyone how they haven't raised property taxes.

I had to get him the heck out of Ashe county. He was trying to move in on a couple of my concubine prospects.

Haven't you read, The money is magically going to pay back itself with no new tax revenue. Dog you should have asked the Governor where he is planting his money trees.

They want to build a 40 million dollar middle school but want spend 5 million for a community college. Go figure.

Did anyone tell them a bond has to be paid back?
