All places need to do is try to be the bet they can be. If they are good at it, they'll succeed. If not, maybe they'll slug along and squeak out a minimal living. I'm writing about gourmet dining. To be successful in the restaurant business you need good service, good quality food, reasonable prices. My best example would be Winner's Circle. A successful operation that has grown from when I was first aware of them on South Jefferson Ave in WJ just above the carwash there. Gourmet? Hardly. But they certainly meet the three criteria I laid out here. And it darn sure isn't easy to do either.

People want make a scene for various reasons. They wont even send cold food back. The only way to gauge your performance is through anonymous reporting. I am like several of you I will not hesitate to complain and tell them my beef.

If the service isn't meeting your expectations, **** skippy let them know face to face. They cannot improve on something they know nothing about if no one ever speaks up. Face to face will surely be more effective than spewing about it on some message board.

I'm with you smalltown. If you don't tell them that something isn't right, how will they know? Maybe they don't care and they wont last long in the business that way. And if something isn't good, you don't do them any favors by not telling them. No need to sugar coat the truth. A polished turd is still nothing more than a turd no matter how you pretty it up.

No one will look you in the face and tell you your food and your choke and puke suck.

I have no qualms about that, I have done it in the past, and will probably have to do it in the future.

We went there Saturday and the pizza was really good. Waitress was attentive and everyone was friendly.

No one will look you in the face and tell you your food and your choke and puke suck. They are too afraid of an owner becoming angry and belligerent. If you really want the truth about how you are doing get some cards with pointed questions as to their concerns and you as the owner take them around and kiss some butts and get people to fill them out and simply leave them on the table.

Sweet britches the waitress when fins gets out of jail maybe you could try out for a lap dancer job with us.

Unless they changed the recipe for pizza from when they were Bella Regazza, it's probably not very good. Tried it once, had to throw it out after one bite. It was grease on cardboard.

For Mr. Underdog as far as not being successful because i work as a waitress clearly proves your ignorance! I will not quote what I make a week because its clearly not your business however i want or need for nothing! You do not have to be a doctor, lawyer, etc. To be sucessful that is measured by the happiness inside your heart but I am very content and happy with my life and enjoy every minute of my job! Hope you can find that as well!

It's not like there is a high standard in place for pizza in Ashe county.

What's interesting is that I didn't really see anyone jump on and attack this place as the one individual suggested (I suspect that poster is an owner). If you don't want bad reviews, then have good food. Unfortunately, it's amazing how many people open restaurants that have no idea what good food is. Given how defensive Farbe has already gotten, it makes me wonder if they have a clue about what good food is.

Seems like the gauntlet has been thrown. Guess I'll have to try the place and then give some feedback. I promise to be honest and not sugar coat it

None of us here have ever even suggested that we are writing a restaurant review. Personal opinions about general types of food businesses and feelings about restaurants based on personal experiences. Slop trough all you dare to eat places are not good or even worth what little they convince you to pay. Chain restaurants are mediocre at best with acceptable predictable food and service delivered to a national standard, but they at least have a standard that is predictable. Then are the locally owned (no matter what the locale is) mom n' pop places. Some are better than others and some, once in great while, are really excellent places to eat. They tend to do a couple things acceptably well but certainly aren't great food places. They come and they go. Some last longer than others. Others are obviously so filthy that just by looking at them from the street you know that anyone in their right mind would not even top there to use the bathrooms even if they id finally spruce up the look of their bright red roof. So you see, we never just blatently condemn a place because we can. It is based on far more than that. So, when you open a new place, since there have been so many to come and go before you, do not get too upset because some of us share our well based thoughts and predictions. It is up to you and your employees to show the world how really great your new idea restaurant theory really is.

while its understood that "you cant please everybody" we have tried, and asked as many customers as possible about their expeirence, and how we could improve.we have had very little complaints and we have worked on fixing the problems we have been made aware of.if you are unhappy with the food we are sorry, but if you give up on an establishment after one, not so great trip, then you will be pressed to find anywhere to eat before long.we hope you give another shot.we have now been open 2 weeks, and have had many repeat customers who rave about our food.but like i said, you cant please everybody.but we do try.

If the food is good at an establishment I will say so, if it is bad, I will also say so. And, my experience with my one trip to this establishment, food wise, was that it isn't good.

Who would you be talking about? Let me know if you would like me to make a list of cover ups, accomplishments the leaders who care have done using this site. We wont get into the fact that you cant be too successful still working as a waitress.

the food is awesome. and most people understand that quality food does take a little longer than mc donalds ..but it's worth it. there are" 2 "owners and several fine team members who have worked very hard to provide this area with a new and awesome place to dine.hopefully the place will speak for itself and not be harmed by the trash that is spread on this site by the usual trolls who have nothing better to do than whine and badmouth everything ! thank you..

Nothing like getting a race review. Would it be race like Martin Luther King or Nascar? Lol

As an employee at olde towne eatery i encourage everyone to come and try it out for yourself! I will admit the first week of business was a learning experience for us all and never having worked together we had to learn each other strengths and weaknesses which may have resulted in longer wait times for some of you! However we have built an amazing team and all work together to please each and every customer that enters the door! There are no restaurants in ashe county that can compete with our menu or quality of food! From burgers, pasta, subs and the best pizza in the county theres a little something for everyone! We also offer each of our guest garlic knots upon arrival which are receiving race reviews! We appreciate each and everyone of you and are very proud of the business we are helping build for our community! Leslie, the owner, aims to please each and you and works very hard to make sure everyone leaves which a full stomach and a smile! Please come on out and give us a try for yourself im sure you wont be disappointed!
