The late Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan, Jr., in one of his more well-known dissenting opinions, acknowledged that eyewitness testimony is evidence that "juries seem most receptive to, and not inclined to discredit." Bucking the overwhelming majority, he went on to try to discredit eyewitness testimony. In 1 Corinthians 15:5-7, the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian church of the eyewitnesses to Christ's resurrection: "and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles." Paul reminds Christ followers that the resurrection of Christ was validated by the eyewitness testimonies of hundreds. The resurrection is God's validating stamp on the claims of Christ's divinity and the sufficiency of his death as payment for our sins. Just a Thought – 4/14/14
