Yet another poster child for the barney society. Thats all the town needs is a reputation of the police pulling you over for the ell of it. Again a ticket only brings the town 5 dollars. Guess who is paying barneys salary while he sits in court all day.

So he's just randomly stopping people to check them out? That could lead to some lawsuits for the town if he isn't reined in.

Cases weren't dismissed the judge found them not guilty because there wasn't probable cause for him to stop them and question them. Looked like he just stops people cause as a barney he can.

Doing a search on the nc court system using the officer name search feature barney hodges as of today already has 60 court cases. Tickets written only bring in 5 bucks to the town. This aint Waldo FL.

I'm curious as to the reason given for the 3 cases that were dismissed. Perhaps online dude could enlighten us.

Well I don't know him but I had to go to court against my neighbor. I get there and my lawyers says its going to be a long day. I ask why and he said its a Hodges day and they are always long because so many trials. I watched officer after officer get up and tell details about different things without a trial. Then it started 4 trials back to back with Hodges as arresting officer. My lawyer said most of his cases go to trial. That day he lost 3 of the 4 trials, all for DWI. If I turned out 75% bad work at the factory I work at they would fire me. I was told it is always like that. Long day and I still have to go back because they didn't get to my case for the Hodges trials.

He may be an instructor. Another former WJ officer is now a school resource officer.

Don't that officer that use to work for West Jefferson and involved in the sh00ting work for the ashe sheriff now? I saw him on the National Geo. show setting at a desk with Officer Munday when Joe Francis returned from the shooting of a cow.

Did he get a job as a barney shooting instructor?

Well, for once you are mistaken underdog2 - he was not the West Jefferson officer involved with the shooting. I believe that was Officer Jake Howell, and he no longer works for the Town of WJ.

He's wearing a badge. That's reason enough to be suspicious.
