Obviously you have first hand knowledge of the dss. Tell them its piss poor advertisement. Our government at work wasting our money again.

The billboards are to recruit new foster families, not drum up reports. The state gives each county money that can only be spent to recruit new foster and adoptive families. I saw several similar billboards for other counties all up and down the interstate while on vacation this summer. And sometimes billboards stay up for months after the contract is up. If no one else buys the space, the old ad stays up until the owner of the billboard takes it down.

Has anyone seen more of these bill boards around or is this just an Ashe county hair brained idea?

I didn't say I think it's a good idea.

I just cant see wasting resources and money on a bill board. I dont really think a bill board will entice a call to the dss. They would be better off posting job openings on the bill board.

From who I've talked to, they are targeting the other lazy *** moms that have been covering for the ones that need to be reported.

So tell me how many elementary children are first able to read the bill board and second are old enough to drive by the bill board? Do they not have enough to do at dss that they have to advertise for children to call them in which there is nothing they can do without an investigation by the sheriff. I can go on and on.

Maybe, just maybe, it could be because that road is heavily traveled. Or they got the billboards on the cheap.

There are 2 bill boards in front of Mountain view school stating every child needs a safe place to grow. Ashe county social services and the phone number. Why is dss paying for 2 bill boards and are these the only 2?
