Why is WJ so against a tattoo shop?

Get them to slip out of those bottoms and see what the rich girls have. Even our very own pawn star Laura Bentley has tats. This is her p**n name.

I have seen some pretty interesting tattoos at the pool in Jefferson Landing. But I still don't understand why middle aged women would want tattoos.

Your right Fins, I have saw people covered up with tattoos in the grocery store using a SNAP card and saw the same person at the gas station using a gas voucher.

Reminds me of the excuses used against the state lottery. I see chicks all the time that dont have two nickles to rub together but have tattoos all over.

Look close at the college basketball players also. They have them all over their arms. Cant see the football players but I think its a good bet they have them also.

What I find fascinating, in sort of a train carrying nuclear waste derailing into a school for the blind, is that tattoos are expensive, but some of the biggest customers are dirt poor. A while back I had to run in a dollar general (I usually avoid those stores if possible) and a girl with tattoos down both legs was looking through the tshirts. If you have to buy clothes at dollar general, you shouldn't be spending hundreds of dollars or maybe thousands on tattoos.

I mentioned this on GW and someone explained that people will finance tattoos. They go in with an ide and get as much done as they can afford, and keep going back until it's done.

I'm sick of seeing attractive women with tattoos all over their body. So I guess that makes me against the shops also. Maybe I should say attractive before the tattoos.

Lets see JJ your comments in on visitors post was

Quote "Leave your uppity attitude at home."

Then you turn around and say

Quote "That location is on the primary route into downtown WJ. In my opinion, visitors or passersby would get an immediate bad impression of WJ."

So if you want them to "leave their uppity attitude at home" then why would you care about the location of a tattoo shop?

If you have a problem with a tattoo shop in general then man-up and say so!

I myself don't really care either way! The statement I made is what the very group you address "as uppity" already think about the appearance of that end of town.

A tattoo parlor would be a improvement to WJ....Sure beats the **** out of all the darn antique shops..

Whocares - No comprehension problem here. Your comment, posted on this thread about WJ not wanting a tattoo parlor, clearly implies that a tattoo parlor would be an improvement. Perhaps what you wrote and what you intended to write, are two different things.

Tattoos are main stream now. Not sure how it happened, but they aren't just for bikers any more. I was recently at a wedding, and I'm pretty sure all the females there between the ages of 18 and 30 (maybe 35) had tattoos that were visible in formal wear. And most of theese ladies hold degrees and jobs in the medical field.

While I don't have tattoos and have no intention of getting them others wish to have them. Tattoos themselves are not illegal. It would be much better to have a legal business doing it where I presume the health department would at least do a yearly inspection than say have someone out of their garage doing it. Not to mention I assume there would be tax revenue for the town. I applaud the owner's decision to move to a more business friendly location, it's smart business.

Tourist by the way would buy tattoos too......

Why would I expect anything less when I live in a dry county. Look how long it took just to get liquor in WJ.

There's a problem with tattoo parlors? Bad impression you say? Eyesore for visitors and passerbys? Wait, I thought visitors and passerbys were discouraged here. NOW what they say is important. Stupidity really does run rampant here.

JJ where did I say a tattoo shop would improve the area? I made a statement about the appearance of that end of town, looks like JJ missed reading comprehension class

And a tattoo shop would be an improvement? I don't think so.

Its not like it would have been on the most pristine side of town to begin with and I guess the town thinks that having a shop in the town limits will make it look bad but to be honest almost everything from the ABC store to McDonalds (with the exception of the credit union and smokey mountain bbq) looks like the slum side of town anyway, you would think the town would want to improve the appearance of that area.

It's not like it would've been located in some pristine area along the main drag either. That building is located near a laundromat, car wash, a seedy gas station w/ video poker machines in back (Hasn't that been illegal for nearly a decade?) and a run down motor lodge/apartments. Eyesores abound. Now what could've been one less empty storefront is now two.
