You handle your end, and let the dumpster dudes handle theirs and all will run smooth. Just watch and see..

This just keeps getting better.

I have also been told that it is the same number of trips when they empty the construction debris dumpster.

Not to mention that the tax payer of the county has paid to use the site and expects it to be accessible and open when they arrive. It also wastes time and money of the tax payer to have to make a return trip to site because the bin was not there.

That's a good Idea if you are ok with the county wasting your tax dollars because they are to lazy, sorry or ignorant to find and use a more efficient methods to service the dumpster sites. There is no reason to make so many trips to each site to empty this dumpster. That is wasted money that could be used to pay for something else and waste like this should be taken care of before the county raise's taxes or property values because they need more money.

Here's another option - Leave it the way it is.

Most people are smart enough to not let their children out to play at the dumpsters. The trucks move slow enough that you can get out of the way in your car.

Let the people hired to run Environmental Services make the decisions.

Traffic wouldn't be any worse then the morning and afternoon idiots lined up at Mountain View!!!

Not a wise move for a site located on a main road such as 221 South in Baldwin. Maybe a viable answer for others though. I still say an assistant riding in each truck, standing behind it in a position that the driver can see him/her in the mirrors along with the site attendant there also to get the citizen's attention would make it a darned safe operation. Regardless, the County Manager should get up with the Department Head in charge of the Convenience Centers and make it clear that when a truck arrives there to remove/replace dumpsters the site attendant is to position himself behind the truck so the driver can see him in the mirrors. (it would seem that Department Head is being paid to have already done that). Maybe Risk Management and/or Insurance Carrier could lend some free advice too.

Outstanding Idea. Lets see traffic sitting in 221 and 16, I can count the wrecks now.

WOW....

Why not just temporarily close the gates to outside traffic, while the trucks are on site doing their job. With no traffic worries they could be in and out in no time. It don't take a rocket scientist to figure that out..

I think it's full service now. I know I've taken tires there but didn't pay much attention to the other boxes.

And furthermore, it should be policy that no dumpster truck ever back up inside the Convenience Center sites without a County employee behind it to guide the driver and watch for inattentive citizens, loose free range children etc. Whether that person is the Site Attendant or a or another employee assigned to assist the driver doesn't matter. Extra cost? Maybe, but let one truck back over a loose kid and the costs will be miniscule compared to what the lawsuits would cost.

Since when should any of us have to point out something as easy to fix as this problem. The site attendants should already be trained to control traffic when the trucks are there to exchange the dumpster. Instead, they historically sit on their dead and/or dying arses and watch the world go by. I too call BS on the response he got from the County. If there is a need for some reason for the Attendants to stay sequestered in their little huts then maybe each driver needs to have an assistant assigned on each run so they have someone to control the traffic at the site. I have seen time when two were needed to control the traffic anyway, particularly at busy times at the Fleetwood site

Is the Doggett site just for haz mat or full service now?

Farmer28

Coop,

I think the Doggett site is open every day except Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays.

Yogi your opinion is flawed so let me point out to you why. The public comment period is just that public comments and you are given 3-5 minutes of their time which by the way you are paying them for it. You will get no comment from them. So what if its made a part of the record and for the public to know. Unless you can challenge them its useless as t*ts on a boar hog.

Now yogi Joesph contacted the supervisor of the department, the commissioners do not get involved with day to day operations of the county. The county manager is over this supervisor and its his job to see that a citizen complaint or suggestion is carried out.

If this option fails and it shouldn't you can then request the manager put you on the agenda, then you can challenge the idiots. I am willing to bet it would never have to get that far.

Glad you think so highly of the dog yogi.

Coop I didn't mean they had to buy one for each center I meant just one period as that is all it would take.

Logistically, they don't have to buy an extra one for each center. Think they have a spare at the Doggett road site that is only used once a week.
