It should be once the road is finish and the old steep slopes are flatting out some.

As steep as these banks are is this not going to be an ongoing problem from now on?

From recent news reports both stories appear to be correct, the bank gave way under the road up to the edge of the road, large void to rebuild and repair, hillside slide down blocking the road in a similar location.

I just talk to a friend that is a DOT inspector he told me that 221 between Paul Goodman and Mulatto Mountain either slid off or the bank above the road slid off and block the Rd. He said he has heard both story's but is not sure which one is correct since he hasn't been out there yet. Either way 221 is still close to thru traffic at Idlewild Rd.
This is the same area where the road slid off just a couple months ago

221 is closed from the dump to Water Tank Rd due to road being washed out.

I don't why it is closed But I can see the barricades and light tower from the house. Traffic is going across Idlewild to 163 and 221 has been closed since at least 2am

221 north is closed at idlewild rd.
