I didn't ask you what the president said a year ago. I read that article back when it came out. I asked you what do you want the government to do specifically for Ashe county. Try answering in your words, of with some out of date feel good article. And I'll let you know, I'm in the tech field. So you can save the educate yourself crap for Hankey here.

First of all to "aFicloNadoS", I would suggest to educate yourself a little about government and I'm not trying to be ugly. Look at this site https://www.cnbc.com/2019/0...t-win.html
Trump started this last year, along with the FCC.

And to "henryii", you might want to read that site too, since you think I'm a liberal.

5g, are you one of these sorry liberals who believe the government exists to do what's good for the people and take care of essential needs?

That's why I'm writing the FCC and the President. Both political parties want to open up 5g home. I have made some calls to Verizon in regards to the 4g and 5g home. They are already doing this in Tennessee, which isn't far from Ashe of course, so we'll see what we can do to help Verizon. I know of some land owners in the county that have in the past, been contacted by the competition to put towers up for the 4g.

The main problem with skyline is there is no competition. Verizon has no towers in Ashe county, they are using Carolina West towers.

5g home will be able to bundle TV, Internet and Telephone. Verizon, AT&T and others are going to offer it. I know that Verizon is offering it in Tennessee in areas that do not have broadband or areas with very little broadband. But I know Verizon offers the 4G now. I know Charter in Boone offers TV and Internet right now with speeds up to 400mbps in a bundle for less than 1/2 of what I'm paying with Skyline. It would be great if we had them here.

****, BREMCO buys their power from Duke. Between that and the expense of maintaining a rural service area, BREMCO is more expensive than Duke power.

I'm all for getting 5g service.

Note from GoNC: a portion of this post was removed for trolling.

Hank the Zero, look at the rate charts. Duke is cheaper than Bremco.

Bremco Facilities Charge $24.17, 4.53¢ kwh for Distribution Energy Charge, and 5.74¢ kwh for whole power service.

Duke Facilities charge $14.00, 8.7179¢ per kwh

You are paying $10.17 more for facilities charge and 1.5521¢ kwh more by using Bremco.

I have service in both areas and the rates are published

I'd like to point out that I've had better internet in Chad, Africa -which the High Country resembles in so many ways.

I am asking about signing a petition to get 5g home, here in Ashe County. This has nothing to do with your "electric".

If you're having a problem with BREMCO move down the mountain where you can pay Duke's extortionate rates and guess what they're petitioning the state for permission to raise the rates even more to pay for the cost of the coal ash clean up. A situation brought about by Duke's neglect and indifference that polluted rivers and poisoned water tables. God forbid that Duke's corporate officers or shareholders should feel any pain, just pass it on to the customers.

Since we have lived here we've experienced efficient and courteous service from BREMCO and just for icing on the cake a rebate every year.

I am wanting to get a petition signed for 5g Home by Ashe County residents with Verizon. Also, in the process of writing the FCC and the U.S. President in regards to the need of 5g home in our rural area of Ashe County. From the way it looks, both political parties want to open up 5g home. I have been a resident since my childhood and been a customer to BREMCO and Skyline since I was a young adult. I haven't seen any kind of a financial break from Skyline and I believe the first with BREMCO a few months ago, if you kept your WATTS down below 80KWh or 85KWh, whichever it was. Even during the Pandemic, there were no break to the Ashe County Loyal customer. You would think they are suppose to help Ashe County, being a co-op. They are in, Gaffney, S.C., Mountain City, Tenn., Boone, NC, Banner Elk, NC, Lenoir, NC, West Jefferson, NC, maybe another.? Why they venture out when they need to offer the best service and cost to their customers they've had for years. The TV of course, doesn't match any competitor and new customers get new and more option TV boxes, but they won't allow loyal customers to receive the "latest TV box, some channels freezes up and are blurry and their "internet " service is what keeps the competition away from Ashe. I'm sure Ashe county customers have seen commercials on TV for AT&T, Verizon, Spectrum for the whole bundle of TV, Internet and Telephone for a cost of 1/3 to 1/2 of their Skyline/Skybest Bill. Does anyone want to see 5g home?
