Ann Rose I don't know well, but I just like to support folks getting on the ballot. However according to the state website no one with the first name Ann and last name Rose is registered to vote in the 286## zip code range.

That could mean her first name is not Ann
That could mean her last name is not Rose
That could also mean she's not moved her registration since moving here in 2013.
It could mean she's registered just when she made the decision and the website hasn't updated yet.

Now to run in a Democrat or Republican primary you have to have been a member of either party for 90 days prior so that could be why she's running as an Independent.

A quick look at publicly available social media sites shows that she does hold many liberal views. It wouldn't hurt our Commissioners if we had folks with a bit broader viewpoints heading up the county. (That doesn't mean I'll vote in November for her, I'm undecided on that at the moment).

Billy, I think you have really misjudged Fins and Jack. While conservative by nature, they are against corruption and lunacy no matter what party sprouts it.

Billy, are you addressing your question to me? Because several people had the same opinion. But since you seem to for some reason be concerned over my opinion, at this time I don’t have any specific issues to give you, it’s just an opinion after interacting with her a few times. She seems nice enough, but I don’t see leadership skills there. Also, given that I’d also gotten the impression that she’s pretty far left, I doubt she and I are going to have too many common views.

The only one I can think of was a guy in New Hanover County who was eventually voted off the board after being declared incompetent. Then of course there’s Mumpower in Buncombe. I think he’s in the looney bin too.

You are right Billy, the bar has been set very low indeed. I challenge you to find two sorrier sitting commissioners in NC than Rose and Perry.

In what way(s) would she not be “a good commissioner”? I mean, the bar is set so low in this county at this point with the current sitting board of Garbage Pail Kids. She’s far more intelligent than any sitting member of the board. I don’t know her politics or ideology, but she could potentially add a bit more balance to a body that sits to the right of Roy Moore, assuming she’s a “liberal”. Difference of opinion that results in constructive dialogue and compromise is healthy for democracy. The woman basically lives off the grid, knows her way around a blade and runs her own business. That’s bad***, but yeah, that probably intimidates a lot of males up here.

My guess is that she does not want to be labeled before she even gets on the ballet. I doubt I would vote for her, however I hope she gets on the ballet and will sign the petition so she can be on the ballet just because every candidate deserves the chance to be heard. I don't give a **** about liberal or not, I want to know that the **** she can do for the county.
