Another foolish article in the Jefferson Post

I'm still miffed that the family filed a civil suit before the criminal trial even began, and for a pretty small amount.

Well the news boys are at it again. Have you seen the article on the Hoppy the hippo case from court today. They talk about the civil suit against Hippo and Roten but no mention of bufurt who was also sued. Has bufurt threaten them as I hear he has done to former employees. Why don't the local news boys go after burfurt ? Why are they leaving his name out? He and Williams were both named but no mention in the Jefferson Post of that.

There's no snake in the grass. Just stupid people that don't like change. They aren't smart enough to see their own hypocrisy

Maybe you should look at individuals within the Greater Fleetwood Preservation Group that could benefit from the move. A son of one of that organization's members publically blasted the fire department on social media for their "shortsightedness" yesterday. And I think the father of the person who made the comments used to be on the Fleetwood fire department as well. That's likely your snake in the grass.

It has to do with the million yards of fill that Vecellio & Grogan will be able to put on the site. This is your snake in the grass.

There is a lot about what Lee is doing here that I don't understand. First of all after the county gave up their option to get the school property back. The board of ed. Advertised it for 10 days in the local paper to anyone who wanted to upset the bid the fire dept offered, where was Lee? He had a chance to upset the bid. He then attended the auction and bid off a lot things in the building including lots of structural items of the building. He said he learned the day of the auction the building was going to be torn down by talking to someone with the Greater Fleetwood Preservation Group. He then went to the commissioners wanting to save the building while his workers was out there demolishing the place getting things out he bought and didn't buy. Was he really wanting the building or was he working for someone else who wanted to stir up trouble for the fire dept. it seems really odd he didn't upset the bid when the fire dept was trying to buy it then he went to the auction and bought more items than anyone else, then sent his workers out there to start demolishing the place while he was at the 3 different commissioners meetings trying to save the building. Sounds like there is a snake in the grass on this whole situation.

His stories are lacking in journalistic integrity. " no hope for Fleetwoos school". Has an editorial ring to it in my JSP book of standards.

That place should have been torn down years ago. The community center there has never been as strong as the one in Riverview and many people in that community that have moved in over the last several years didn't even know it existed. Old buildings are not meant to be saved, the cost of renovations and aesbestos removal far outweigh any benefits derived from keeping it, especially when the building has not been well maintained as is the case with the old Fleetwood school. Whoever was in charge of that place did a horrible job at keeping it up.

Well at least we can let this die, we all knew they didn't have a leg to stand on. Demolition will proceed.

Why are any of these idiots having the conversation about the old school? The property was sold on January 18 to the Fleetwood fire club.

For once I agree with ****. Old fleetwood school should be flattened.

Leave the fire department alone.

So one person comes before the board and without discussion and committee is formed. And some of you dont think they meet prior to meetings.

Are there really people out there who believe that building is some kind of architectural treasure?

This make three times that the paperboy has copy and pasted the same untruthful statements into an article. Lee McMillan has not knowledge of what is going on.

This is a done deal.

The county attorney, John Kilby, basically told the board they no longer had any involvement, and to stay away from it. So of course they appoint a committee to look at it. Typical idiotic behavior by the commissioners.

I live in Fleetwood, and this old school building needs to go, should have been done away with a long time ago! Don't see where the commissioner have a dog in this... I will let it go there!

Slowman, a good reporter follows up on details after the meeting instead of just repeating what happened and leaving people to assume that the moron addressing the commissioners was correct on his info.

And my facts have been proven time and time again.

Note from GoNC: a portion of this post was removed for trolling and vulgarity.

The news reporter simply reported on the events and comments at the County Commissioner meeting. No reason to attack the reporter for reporting. aFicloNados all the information you posted and the facts you think you know, well they are not facts and you have no idea what you are talking about.

Yes, but not a system that would support a fire department with a community room for 200.
