I’m not getting it. The mapping website is accessed just like the old one, ashe county government website, hover over departments and select tax administration , then select tax maps in the upper right hand corner. I like the new site. More info and you can see if your neighborss have paid taxes from the map! I think they are more transparent than ever. Thanks for the good work.

Thanks, Pappyspal, for the alternate site.
I'd always used the qpublic.net site, but when I went to access it today, it said I needed to sign in. So, I went ahead and created an account, only to get the message saying the tax assessor had removed access for the public. I was about to fire off some angry emails but thought I'd better check it out first. I figured somebody on here would know about it.

They made it complicated a few months ago to get to the site.

I just tried to access the GIS website for Ashe County and got a message saying that the tax assessor has removed access to it for the public. Does anybody know anything about this?
