I've got a little advice for you. When trolling, don't try so hard.

No need to make a final decision yet. I'll have to wait and see who actually runs. Some of the current ones may have had their fill already after the last couple of years.

I decided I'll vote for ones who seem to know it's important that families are perfectly capable of make choices that good for them. I hope they'll extend that thinking to things other than just masks.

And what did you decide?

Hikingmom there was no anger in my post. Just wondering who to vote for. After that board meeting Monday, now I know for next time.

I know. But I'm saying even optional is ridiculous and just promoting fear. Just like school yard barneys, it promotes the idea to kids that school is a dangerous place and will have negative impacts on their performance.

Fins, my comment was for the OP. He was uoset before they even voted.

Delta variant has a fatality rate of 0.1%. Everyone is talking about it's more contagious, but no one is talking about it's got the same fatality rate as the flu.

Like I said cart before the horse! Masks are optional with it being left open for change.

Once again menopause proves to have nothing of substance to add. Just a useless troll.

Only, all of this over reaction in the last year has hurt society. But one of the biggest damages it's caused is it's made people thing they shouldn't get sick at all. And at the same time, we destroyed people's immune systems.

Fins thanks for your insight. I was browsing for some data on breakthrough infections and came across this from the Kaiser family foundation, a group in healthcare circles anyway that generally has a balanced perspective. As you mentioned the data on breakthrough infections is pretty incomplete.

Dog you have a decent observation, in India and England where the Delta variant case spikes preceded ours the variant appears to burn out quickly, unfortunately as the number of cases spike the number of hospitalizations and deaths spike too.

Teachers should not ever serve on the school board. They have no idea how to manage anything.

Wow, still obsessed with teachers.
A teacher managed to get rid of you so your statement is false!!
That hate you have for teachers is interesting. Can you please tell everyone when your hatred first began
with teachers so we can understand why you hate them so much
Thanks in advance

And thanks to both of you for posting again after you have had your egos slapped down for the last month.

I have not stopped vomiting since I read your posts this morning so I am about to get back to my
bikini figure again.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Btw, the data from the CDC has not been all over the place. The bureaucrats running the CDC have been all over the place. The data hasn't changed. There is no science supporting vaccinated people wearing masks. The head of the CDC lied when she said 1 in 10 or 1 in 20 of delta variant cases are breakout cases of vaccinated people. The CDC actual numbers say breakout cases are 1 in 1000. And have any of you actually questioned the fact that while they talk about breakout cases, they completely ignore the numbers of serious cases? They don't tell you how many, if any, of these breakout cases are serious. Have you also noticed that there is no talk about hospital capacity or bodies being stored in military freezers? 300 people are dying a day from Covid in the US. That's an average of 6 people per state. We have 8100 people die everyday anyway. And back to the age thing, no where do they want to tell you the demographics of those 300 people. It's because almost all of them are over the average life span in America anyway.

Oh, where do I start? Let's address the original point of the school board. Teachers should not ever serve on the school board. They have no idea how to manage anything. Their whole perception is entirely about the teachers. They have no idea how to manage a budget. The fact that teachers threw a fit when the state did away with the option to draw their salaries 12 months a year instead of 10.

Now, let's address the Covid issue. Dear god, almost all of you are emotionally driven s. None of your panic is based in science. Only, like dog said, you're normally a level headed logic driven individual. But you've based your opinion now in fear based on a handful of anecdotal cases. Not actual facts of who is really at risk and who is really dying or what the actual odds are.

The current surge will last about a month and will taper off. A good gauge is Great Britain since our surges always come after theirs about 3 weeks apart. Their surge is over and so will ours in about a month.

Health care in NC is in real jeopardy with hospitals starting to force employees to vaccinate. I am hearing of nurses protesting and calling in sick at some triad hospitals. Remember the dog has said this economy is going to fall like a rock and if we shut down again you can kiss business good bye along with banks.

Dog, I know that calling for mandatory vaccination does not sit well with some. I've changed my stance as I've seen young healthy folks stricken with the virus and suffer through weeks of intubation, kidney dialysis, and utter debilitation from an avoidable disease. In years past as the world fought polio, and small pox everyone got vaccinated to protect themselves and others. Somehow COVID has become a political statement not a healthcare issue.
I'm glad you made the decision to be vaccinated, I don't want to see a class system where access to pubic services is dependent on your vaccination status, it will become a new type of prejudice with folks screaming about their rights.

Only, Generally you are on solid ground but your insistence of mandatory vaccine for the china virus is about the dumbest thing you have posted. That would be the best possible way to start a civil war in America. Let me point out that the clown in the white house is not even making it mandatory for federal workers as they can be tested regularly. The misinformation you speak of doesnt come from the left or the right but right from sources that should be giving sound medical advice which has proven to be flip flopping like a flounder. Just so you didnt forget I am vaccinated.

spy39: I'm so sorry you do not love your children. Your misguided thinking surrounding the COVID pandemic is pathetic, all you are showing is that you are reading the leading mis-information sources on the internet and ignoring the science based statements. Yeah the CDC does appear to be all over the place on mask wearing because they change their recommendations for time to time. That is because the virus is every changing and the scientific research points out what will be helpful to mitigate the spread of the infections.

The CDC has not gone far enough, in my opinion, nor has the government. I believe that as do the vast majority of the professional medical associations in the world, that vaccination should be mandatory for all persons who are eligible, that's everyone over the age to 12. There should be no religious exemptions or political exemptions to this requirement. People are needlessly dying because this step has not been taken.

The only medical contraindication for taking the vaccine is an allergy to the components of the vaccine itself. Millions of people in the US have taken the vaccine safely.

The argument that you can still get the virus after taking the vaccine does not hold water. This is true of any vaccine, it was true for small pox, measles and polio, you could still get infected with those viruses even when vaccinated, the great thing about them was that you would not die, or be seriously ill if you were infected. Polio and smallpox have been virtually eliminated from the world due to vaccination. meaningful mandatory vaccination to attend school had the single largest impact on stopping those two diseases, the same could be true for COVID. Some say that the government or individual employer cannot mandate vaccination this link discusses some of the legal theory that surrounds that topic https://www.wpr.org/what-do...e-mandates
