You are welcome to come after me any time. If you give me a little notice, I’ll make sure the bar is stocked with all your favorites

Oh.. I didn't realize creating usernames to go after you with was just a normal part of the GW user experience. I haven't been doing it right. I am still pretty new to the site. My apologies... I will eventually get around to creating one and then I will come after you too.

I guess we'll know if Fins really does have something to do with this deal if him and Jack stop complaining about the airport. lol

It’s a regular thing they do. Probably half of the new names created are just to come after me.

Did you really just create a username for the sole purpose of saying that to Fins? You must be a pretty special man Fins.

Who is it you think are behind this deal? You make it sound like we are doing something illegal which we are not.

Fins is right, no one is trying to buy the state park. I have it on good word that the people behind this project are buying the campground where the two parts of the river meet.

Oh, and Fins, I know who you are now! You should know the details since you are behind this deal.

I don’t know how some of these rumors get started, but no one is buying the park. Let it go, people.

Savethepark, liquor is the liquid that contains dreams, and pays a heck of alot of taxes. Try a few bottles.

If anyone were trying to buy the park, it would be public knowledge by now. It would require the legislature to pass a law specifically allowing the sale. Then it would have to be offered to the county first. If the county was not interested, and the legislature were to declare it surplus property, it would have to be offered for sale to the highest bidder. If anyone thinks this could be done behind closed doors in Raleigh, they are dreaming. It would have leaked out within minutes of anyone even thinking of it.

And there are a couple other clubs of similar level in the same area. They’ve created their own clientele.

Cherokee Plantation completely renovated in the early 90's I believe. You can see the plantation house in the distance when driving north on US Hwy 17 between Beaufort and Charleston. It is on the left side of the highway approx. two miles from the hwy. Located on the Ace Basin which is in effect one of the few Deltas on the east coast. One other Delta located also on US Hwy 17 between Georgetown and Mount Pleasant (Charleston). Fins is correct as there are only a few members, highly exclusive. Additional photos and information for who may have interest:

Oh, last I talked to someone, Cherokee had no mor e memberships available. But some of the members bought multiple memberships to keep the number of people low.

"Cherokee Plantation currently has a membership roster of eight. Yet those eight are waited on by a staff of 75, many of whom have been at the plantation most of their lives."

I sure hope those 75 staff members aren't black. If they are and this gets out we will be paying them reparations!

Jr, there is a world beyond your comprehension. Let me show you a peek behind the curtain

At a certain level of clientele, the location doesn’t matter if the experience is unique and high enough quality. The above mentioned club is in the middle of no where, in the arm pit of SC. Along with importing their members, they import their workforce too.

Wow, StP correct spelling and punctuation would do wonders to your post.

I don't see any major developments in this area for the near future until there is a reliable workforce to draw upon for staff, employees, etc.

I know Disneyland hasn't done well the last few weeks practically deserted. Lowest attendance in decades.

There are a few factors, but the primary one is Disneyland (unlike Walt Disney World) relies primarily on local season holders to fill up and spend money in their parks. Except in June, July and August they black listed pretty much every weekend and even many weekdays. They did that in anticipation that Galaxy's Edge would be a draw that would fill up the park on its end. It did do well for the preview but once general admission has been going on it's done abysmally. Cost is a major reason. Park admissions is around 200 dollars. Then on top of that if you want say build you own lightsaber its another 200 (and a flimsy one that breaks almost before you leave the park), and if you want to build a droid that's another 150-200. Then if you go to the cantina to drink a beer is $75.....

The grass always seems greener in the other field, until you get there. There's a reason there is no Marriott or Renaissance, Ritz Carlton, etc in this area. There isn't enough demand. The rich don't come here in the numbers needed to operate any of those. If the demand comes they'll build one. However given the costs of building one they won't do it until the ROI looks appealing to them. Also be careful what you wish, if they come in enough numbers the cost of living will rise, but your pensions won't and most likely wages will not keep pace.

They just moved the final section bidding from this fall until 2021 for the widening project.

Will more hotels/motels get built, yes. But I don't see that in the next 5 years, not in Ashe...probably Boone gets another one before we do. That doesn't mean someone won't be looking to buy property and perhaps start planning if they deem it a worthwhile investment but until the road is finished and they can be certain of the traffic I don't see them investing in the construction. Motels/Hotels are very expensive to build these days especially high end ones.

A Marriott costs between 68 million and 105 million to build not counting the cost of the land, permits, impact fees, tap, and hard cost contingencies. (Marriott's have to have 300 rooms minimum today). Marriott expects around 75% occupancy to be considered worthwhile. We are a very long ways from that. (Note that the build cost is just that there are many other fees etc they must pay to Marriott after construction on an ongoing basis as with any franchise).

I want to apply as a taster at the new distillery. Who should I contact?

Jr, you think small time. You can’t even seem to fathom what high end clients want. I’m not talking about your tweetsie and Myrtle beach customers.
