Why do democrats waste their time running in Ashe?
I might have to vote for Sharpie. He would be an awful commissioner, but he would sure be entertaining and give us something to talk about again.

I got word the drunken preacher is in jail in Danville. Him and the midget were headed to NYC for the Macy's Day parade, apparently the midget had a a gig as an elf on the Keebler's float. They had a wh*re with them for the trip and she flung a PBR can out the back of the caddy at an on coming deputy. To make it worse, he was a K9 officer and, well, I don't have to explain. The drunken preacher is doing 6 months since he is driving and they put the wh*re in rehab in galax. From what my source said, the midget convinced the Barney that he was 12 years old with a thyroid problem and is in a foster home run by a young baptist couple. I don't know if we will get them back in time for New Years.

I see we need to educate you. Your first class will be at the New years river bash. Its usually so cold and nasty this bash is not well attended. However the drunken preacher never misses. We usually have to bail him out of jail in some state though. Then we can inform you of who is whom of Ashe and Alleghany county.

Sorry but I am not accustomed to the local social lingo - Roaring Gap club? Somebody's gotta explain this to me. Does the river bash involve swimming or 4 wheeling or beer drinking? In that case, count me out. I only use 4 wheel drive to get up my treacherous gravel driveway in the winter snow. I cannot swim worth a lick and I prefer wine. Anyhow, bash on bashers and roar on gapers. No matter your socioeconomic status. I am all for fun!

Nevermind, google is my friend and from what I can tell as of 2015 - it's $8500ish. No thanks, I would rather continue my happy anonymous life without that meager stipend and the trouble it would bring. Sad however since I am born and raised here, care about the people who live here and am educated enough to do the job.
