They can stack them up flash. Its not the judges problem or any of his business where the prisoners go or if they are full. That would be the prison systems problem to find a cell. His job is to sentence them.

I know a couple of the judges. Both say they are tired of seeing the same people over and over. Problem is our prison system is over full and there is no place to put them away to

Jack is 100 percent correct. If this has been going on for years then look at the JUDGE who happens to do the scheduling of himself and the other judges.
Most habitual criminals being tried for drugs, oddly get the same two or three attorneys. The district attorneys job is done when the judge gives the decision. Lawyers do judge shop. That is a real occurrence in the judicial system.

Seems like a lot of people know where law enforcement and other officials spend their off time. I wonder if anyone has knowledge of where some judges go and with whom they associate with on their personal time. Judicial Standards has regulations for a reason. Don’t believe everything you see implied on social media. I think we all know the nick name for the “fake” site.

I would guess that there are some judges who have ex parte communications regarding cases. You can bet deals ARE MADE. Deals aren’t illegal unless...Those deals might happen in chambers without the district attorney being present.

General you need to be discussing the judges elections. It is they that let the crooks off, not the DA.

I'm correct he's wrong

It's the 23rd District Court but the 34th Prosecutorial District.

Cases are dismissed when insufficient evidence exists or errors are made in the collection of evidence invalidating it, if that's a concern then you need to look at the arresting agencies and see what's wrong there.

Light sentences is a problem. We seem to have a revolving door where the folks just keep coming in and out. In order to save costs to many cases are allowed to plea to lesser charges in most cases giving very light sentences, that's not a practice I like but unfortunately it is commonplace not just here but most everywhere.....

Actually, you both are right. Ashe is district 34 and 23. https://www.nccourts...she-county

And criminals getting off or getting light sentences has more to do with judges and with the Barney’s not getting airtight cases.

No I am not mistaken. I am referring to district 23 which incorporates Ashe, Allegheny, Wilkes, and Yadkin County. Also what I’m referring to is I’m tired of seeing the same ones go through the court process and charged with serious offenses and get probation, or better yet charges being dismissed.. Heard of a case here recently where the subject received 12 years probation. This is nonsense this trickles right to the assistant DA’s from the District Attorney themself.

Article 4 Section 18 of the NC Constitution lays for the requirements for a DA

Sec. 18. District Attorney and Prosecutorial Districts.

(1) District Attorneys. The General Assembly shall, from time to time, divide the State into a convenient number of prosecutorial districts, for each of which a District Attorney shall be chosen for a term of four years by the qualified voters thereof, at the same time and places as members of the General Assembly are elected. Only persons duly authorized to practice law in the courts of this State shall be eligible for election or appointment as a District Attorney. The District Attorney shall advise the officers of justice in his district, be responsible for the prosecution on behalf of the State of all criminal actions in the Superior Courts of his district, perform such duties related to appeals therefrom as the Attorney General may require, and perform such other duties as the General Assembly may prescribe.

(2) Prosecution in District Court Division. Criminal actions in the District Court Division shall be prosecuted in such manner as the General Assembly may prescribe by general law uniformly applicable in every local court district of the State.

If you want to truth they can make far more money in private practice then they can as a DA, therefore few lawyers actually run to be a DA. This is why the post often runs with almost no opposition in the state.

Also this is the 34th Prosecutorial District no the 23rd......you're confusion probably arrives from that this is the 23rd District Court , which is different than the Prosecutorial District....

What's wrong with the DA that we currently have? He seems to be doing a great job, IMO.
