Lets make it clearer for stew. We dont have a problem with what the commissioners did on this site. Jr is the only one that disagrees with what they did, He has posted his beliefs whether we agree or not.

Apparently the multiple syllable words everyone has been using confused you.

Good grief people get a grip. You gripe because the commissioners wont do something about a problem, then you gripe when they try to fix a problem. You want transparency and then gripe when you get it. Jeez. I'd rather they air it all like they did at the public hearing - at least that way I'm informed about what's happening and I don't have to slap my forehead and wonder why they did something.

There were four or 5 articles written on the dss board. I thought they were very informative for those of us that dont have the time to listen to the meeting. “

If you didn’t even listen to the meeting, then you missed the energy, emotion, passion with which these folks spoke. You can’t honestly speak about their feelings. Much less sit here in criticism of any of them.

You're not concerned the county line is pushing a pro-DSS board agenda? The actual meeting was only about 45 minutes, at times speakers got kinda heated, and the most recent county line article even says all 10 people who spoke to the commissioners were in favor of the board's dissolution, so it does seem like a foregone conclusion that the commissioners were going to listen to these people who have worked in county DSS for many years..... I'm just not sure county line isn't stirring the **** where there isn't much to spread around. But I admit I am still pretty new to the area, so that's why I'm asking the folks of go ashe what the big stink is about and why y'all are so up in arms about all this, accusing new board members of being part of the fake news media and using caps locks (in other related threads) and such.

There were four or 5 articles written on the dss board. I thought they were very informative for those of us that dont have the time to listen to the meeting. They let all three sides voice their concerns. And yes the post times isnt worth wiping my butt with.

I'm an interested citizen voicing an observation mr. rip her. I work in the private sector.

What's the big deal with y'all and this story anyways? I watched the meeting live on my computer and I heard the commissioners say they would be open to reverting back to a DSS board. From the testimonies it seemed like the most recent board had some nasty tendencies, so they got dissolved. I'm wondering why the county line website is still rehashing it? From the sounds of this message board's opinions, the post and times isn't worth its salt, although I can't get past the paywall, and I would like to know the truth of the matter, not just opinions like the county line side.

I will have to disagree. The Ashe county line does the stories themselves. Look at the news articles and you will see who wrote the article. Its not letters in the news articles.

Well, they are new and getting off the ground. But it’s still more than the APT does.

On a side note, we have never had this great coverage of the happenings in Ashe county government. Just goes to show how the post and times were censoring what was written. Had to be smoke and sunshine blown up our butts. Good job Ashe county line!

Ashe county citizens wrote articles. Not ashe county line staff. All only printed letters.

8th Paragraph

Yeah didn't the BOC hire Buchanan, this is as I pointed out in no way guaranteed to be for the people by the people.

11th Paragrah

Those same conditions existed in the Sheriff's Department under Buchanan who was appointed by the BOC.

As I said the grass appears to be greener on the other side of the fence, but once you get there it's often the same grass....I have no doubt in the future at some time we will regret the decision made.

There should have been another lawsuit against the county if what Donna Weaver said is true. And until someone proves otherwise I believe Donna was telling the truth----no doubt.

I’m not disagreeing with what she said either. I’m disagreeing with the spirit of the message. The proper etiquette is to take your win, shut up, and get back to business. Because you make too big of a deal out of it and next time you may find you are sitting in the Compiegne Wagon signing your own surrender.

I am not giving her the credit of burning a bridge. I feel more like given her professional back ground, (an attorney) she spoke very unprofessionally. She should know better. Not that I disagree with a word she said, her point was made before the vote in a previous article.

I would also point out that she is not too bright with her opinion of Judy Poe. That statement concerns me the most.

On a side note, we have never had this great coverage of the happenings in Ashe county government. Just goes to show how the post and times were censoring what was written. Had to be smoke and sunshine blown up our butts. Good job Ashe county line!

Feels like a sore winner. The BOC has already voted and Sexton is out. The proper thing would be to shut up and get back to business. Never publicly burn a bridge if you don’t absolutely have to. You might need to retreat later.
