Mental lets hope it stops raining soon. I am already looking for wood for an ark. There was a moubtain lion spotted on Windy Hill road a few months back. Someone posted its picture on the big site. My daughter saw a bear cross the road about a mile from here. Usually wild animals avoid people. I don't blame them.

Yes mental, there are both moubtain lions , bobcats and wolves in these moubtaibs. I was stabding by the kitchen window on the Mulatto washing dishes one day. I had had a german shepherd but shs had died and where she had been near the old rock celkar I saw,a brown creature standing on to of the rubble. It was a big mountain lion. I called my husband and son and we all saw it. We often heard it scream behind the old miner cabin down the road. We called it Max My kids saw both a bobcat and wolf there. There was also a white buck in that area. Where I am now a big black cat has been seen and we believe it may have been an escapee from the zoo that used to be down the road. Development has forced a lot of animals into contact with people. A neighbor on the Mulatto got up one morning after grilling the night before to find a besr looking at him through his glass door. I listened to his call on my scanner. The game warden I talked to about the mountain lion told me that unless it threatened my animals or kids toleave it alone since they were rare. People actually scare me more than any animal with their cruelty.All my life I have had to make the best of bad situations. It almost makes me look forward go leaving this world. Theworld being left for our children is notgoing to be one worth livibg in I think.

Mental No I didn't get to see the eclipse. It was cloudy here so I didn't bother. It dropped the temperature but never got really dark. A funny story about a besr on thr Mulatto. My kids used to hike that mountain all the time. One ****y oldest found a hunter up a tree his gun lying on the ground at the base . My son asked him what the heck he was doing and the hunter said he saw a bear and asked my son to go on up the path and see where it was. My son looked and saw tracks but no bear. It took him half an hour to talk that hunter down from that little tree. Had the bear wanted him it could have easily climbed that tree. I am still so homesick for the Mulatto. But I can't wait until some of those outsiders now living there run on bears, kr the wolf and mountain lion that used to live there. They may have been run off like I was by now.

Mebtal I feed the birds also. Something keeps stealing my suet feeders. I think its a raccoon but I guess it has to eat too since the neighbors dog steals any scraps that gets put out. I don't think there will be much luck seeing the eclipse.

I am so ready for it to get warm and stay that way. Then we can complain its too hot. I prefer hot any day. My neighbor has.already mowed his grass. Ah the dulcet tones of the gas mower . My daughter won't mow this yard until the bees finish with the dandeliions . She is a naturelist at heart. Mental enjoy the day, I plan too.

Typical sprng weather in the mountains. My mom used to talk about seeing snow in June..I certainly hope not since I am getting too old for this

She won't starve abd that I am proud of. There may come a day when those who can't grow won't eat. Its sad our children don't know basic survival. My favorite plants to grow were African Violets. My daughter knows which wildplants are safe to est and which are not. I was,all for spribg myself. This weather makes my bones hurt.

Not that unusual mental. We usually see snow around Easter in these mountains. Then we get what the old people called Sarvis winter when the sarvis trees start blooming. Then dogwood winter. I have had a terrible time keeping my daughter from planting anything the cold could harm. She already has lettuce up but its under glass. She tajes after me since I loved growing plants. My mom talked about seeing snow when she was a girl in June. Don't worry, its not likely to last long since the ground is too warm now. Just enjoy it.
