So what your saying LLcool is that Calloway has a Big Mouth and was supporting Bucky for this election? Then how did he manage to keep his job?

I'M SO MAD!

Ask Calloway what happened (aka the jailer pictured smoking with inmates) Didn't he call Phil a ****s*y on January 10th when Bucky announced he was running for Sheriff at Smokey MTN BBQ??

I get what you're saying but I was thinking no drive area back there so no more slope to cut .It's an option to say the least ,feasible or not , cheaper than tunnel . I would think with high profile inmates like charged with murder or something where someone looking to pop a cap at one of them the van is safest from a to b with tinted windows of course.

You might have gotten one right.

Which Jailers were working that day? Wonder if it Price or Calloway were on duty?

That would still split the driveway areas and cutting into the slope would have raised the cost even more. The actual need doesn’t justify the cost it would have been

Could be 1st appearance can be only ones done with video monitors. Either way my money is on they were never finished to be able to use .

It wouldn't have split the parking lot because it was going to run along the bottom of the slope from back of courthouse to a door on side of building that accesses the jail . Do they ever use the video feeds to go in front of judge ? I remember those from tour but can't remember details of when inmate had to be in courthouse for court. They might have never used them . I still refuse to give the post a dime so not sure how the article reads on where it took place .

And one question, would a tunnel or fenced walkway have even made a difference with this escape? I thought it sounded like they ran once they were in the courthouse. Not going between the two buildings

The reason an above ground walkway was also abandoned is pretty obvious. Look at google maps and you will see why. A connector between the two buildings would split up part of the parking lot. It’s also a pretty long distance. Looking back the two buildings should have been put closer together so a walkway would have been more feasible. And for how small a problem the issue has been, I don’t see a reason to waste the money

I'm pretty sure I remember when the tunnel plan was abandoned and possibly just doing a sidewalk that joined the two with metal covered roof and chain link fence with razor wire on top . For what ever reason that didn't happen either. The sound of that didn't seem to expensive to me .

I didn't say it was needed only that is was supposed to be built they could have also build a fully enclosed hallway at ground level that would have work to. With all the money they waste on the airport they could come up with something better than a van to move prisoners the short distance across the parking lot

A bridge between the two buildings would probably be less expensive. But truth is, a couple escaped low level deadbeats that were quickly apprehended every 5 or 6 years isn’t worth the cost

Tunnels are very expensive. They are required to have sump pumps, explosive gas monitors, low oxygen sensors, and a sensor that monitors general air quality. They also have to have a ventilation system independent of the buildings they connect. Generally, they are a headache the county does not need.
