GoAshe supporting Ashe County Lines

Not just Boone, but I’ve seen articles/press releases from Hickory, Lenoir, Banner Elk. The coverage of what’s going on at Lenoir-Rhyne is top notch.

Just glad to have the Ashe County Line around, even if it does nothing other than make the county paper actually have to start doing work now instead of running articles from Boone.

Agree with you Fins that it is outdated...much easier to find on one site than searching various funeral home listings.

A newspaper running obits is outdated. Each funeral home lists their own with much more info that the papers run.

Lightfoot; Thanks for your updates. Hope you will do well and are successful. Only criticism I see at this time is minor. Need to keep the Obit Page updated. Information supplied by the funeral homes could be updated weekly.

And keep on posting lightfoot and pay no attention to cliffturd. He is against most anything fins and I support. Most here know that already know that about the dumb***

We are posting links when and where they may be relevant to a topic or thread. We also post links on FB and Twitter. It's standard social media content distribution. As mentioned below, there's a several years long precedent of local news outlets posting links on this site, so we haven't broken the seal on anything. We're not trying to be "supported by" GoAshe nor to try to hone in on any discussion; in fact we asked the moderator ahead of time if it would OK to post news links here under an designated AsheCournyLine account, when they may be bear on a topic.

As previously mentioned, Lightfoot and Orr started posting links here as far back as 2012. If you head to the front page of GoAshe, I don’t see anything about the ACL, I see a built in feed that links to the AP&T. So, who does GoAshe “support?”

If the ACL article is relevant to the topic being discussed, I think it is great to have an article linked be it from ACL, APT, WSJ or other media outlet. Tends to broaden the discussion beyond the typical opinions of the folks posting on this board, not that I mind the opinions the linked articles are presented as news with quotes and face to face interviews where many opinions are at best hearsay.

Fins, the truth has no place in the lives of some of our fellow posters. They can not believe their lunatic "vision" is followed by a very small minority.

WTH cliffturd? Are you so jealous you cant stand to see anyone succeed? The founders have obviously done their homework and have it going. I can even send them a pm and get a reply. Everyone on this site likes their posts but you.

What’s your problem with the county line anyway?

It’s a brand new site. I’m sure they could use the publicity. But Lightfoot and Orr used to regularly post links to their articles on GoAshe when they worked for the post too.
