How can you have a speedy deployment from North Wilkesboro? They give them all a car because if they didn't some other jurisdiction would so giving cars out to carry home spread like wildfire.

I have been told by some law enforcement acquaintances that the reason law enforcement takes their vehicles home is so that in an emergency situation they can make a MUD (Massive Uniformed Deployment) without having to go get their vehicles somewhere else. Also seems to me to be a pretty good idea not to have all the law enforcement vehicles in one place where a terrorist group or mob could damage multiple vehicles in short order. This weeks tragedy in Boone is a good example of the need for speedy deployments. As far as County and City employees the same probably goes for them- water main breaks, sewer problems, storm drainage stoppages, etc. that happen after hours and on weekends can be addressed faster if the employees have their vehicles and equipment at the ready.

One county employee lives on Huckleberry Ridge Rd. Possibly their residence? Most county employees do drive their vehicles home. The ones you talking about dog I do have feelings on that. I know several BoonePD live here and drive theirs home as well. Who knows what is going on. Maybe they are working today?

There are several sheriff department vehicles parked at homes in North Wilkesboro.

It is my understanding unless you are on call for the county over the weekend, county vehicles shouldn't be out after weekday business hours or weekends. I have seen three trucks today with the county logo. Is something going on or are these county workers taking advantage of our tax dollars and driving these vehicles for their personal benefit? I seen one truck down Huckleberry ridge road this morning? I just feel like our tax dollars are not being used wisely and monitored well enough!
