Inappropriate Conduct

I seriously doubt it's the first instance...

I know teachers that were dating students 30 years ago......

I strongly believe that this is an overreaction with what information we've been given. Now there are diseases where someone can develop inappropriate ticks such as Tourette's Syndrome. I don't know the accused and I'm not sure what illness they are inflicted with but just mentioning it.

I read the article and still have no idea what the heck went on. First off this guy is an unpaid volunteer. Someone reported an incident that took place Sept.21. on an activity bus but they didn't know who was responsible at the time. An investigation was started and it was determined that this assistant coach displayed inappropriate conduct for someone supervising students.

This is the first incident of its kind in ACS, no physical contact was reported, they don't believe any students are in danger and no legal action is being pursued.

Then the weird part, the assistant says the incident was related to a personal illness and that several of the kids came forward to collaborate what he said happened. He says parents and students went to administration in his defense but instead of a real investigation they just went on a witch hunt.

They are now going to install cameras on the activity buses.

But the school system could have decided to not comment and then there would have been no story.

Just knowing how county government works, I am betting fins that they intended it to be kept quiet or under the rug so to speak. However when you have one other person that knows what went on it goes public most often. The person or persons involved may not have been satisfied with the outcome from the school system and made it public. Then its cover thy *** mode for the school system.

Come on Ashe county line----catch up.

The school system is In a complex quagmire with this type of situation. An individual could have said or done something that is absolutely inappropriate conduct for a school function, and at the same time not be the least bit criminal. However, if that is the case, the offending individual should have been allowed to quietly step down and go away without being shackled with any allegations or innuendos. Either someone was allowed off to easily, or they have been punished too harshly with the school system trying to cover their *** both ways.

My concern is that it says no charges are being filed. That makes me very concerned. People's lives are being ruined when no crime was committed in this PC climate.

Asst Soccer Coach who was a volunteer. However the article presents both sides and one has to wonder if this was an overreaction to the metoo movement. Hopefully more insight will come when ashecountyline visits it. I must say the Ashe Post article is better than half the ones I've seen them put up.

Who was the assistant coach at ACHS that got fired for inappropriate conduct? I tried clicking on the link to read the article, but I’m not paying for a subscription.
