No, you didn't remember right. At least not for a native.

And people don't have to be interested to pick up some details in 10 years. Especially if they are native.

fins and hikingmom - I haven't been to Mountain City in as many as 30 years. And it sounds like I remembered correctly anyway (road goes through Warrensville and Creston, dead ends in Trade, then take a right, no?).

As far as local news, I haven't really taken much interest until recently.. I've just been much more interested in national and world news. With regard to Creston, I don't live there. I don't know many local people - basically just my family. I'm pretty isolated so how would I know about what goes on there? Huh?

Speaking of local characters, I haven't seen Donald/Waistband in a long time. Always has a rope, sash, or ****erbund-looking something around his belly. Walks everywhere. Once resided under a building in downtown WJ. His dad was an electrical technician at Sprague years ago.

That was my thoughts as well, fins! That doesn't add up at all.

Raised her, went to NWA, and don't know about Creston or how to get to Mountain City?

Huh...

I saw a guy with long dark hair playing a guitar and singing outside Food Lion several times during the summer.

And no it wasn't the Rat Man.

Yep it does go to downtown Trade. Get you a map and do some homework.

Lol redskins.

jack, then how the heck would you get there? I'm blessed with a pretty good sense of direction but am not great with remembering road names and numbers. Doesn't 88 go through Warrensville & Creston until it dead ends in Trade?

moonchild - thank goodness someone else saw the guy...It was so odd I was wondering if I was seeing things! I was just driving past & rubbernecking him so I didn't see the woman.

jack - I am familiar with the food lion in Mnt City... I haven't been there in years though. I would imagine it's about as close or even closer to go there for the scary Crestonites than West Jefferson...down 88, take a right in lovely downtown Trade, right?

I saw that guy too! He was doing "Human" by Rag-and-Bone Man when I went in and "Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis when I came out. There was a woman sitting on the bench outside the old Family Dollar that had some sort of rack with stuff hanging on it that I assumed she was selling. I didn't get close enough to see what it was though.

The scary people from Creston go to the Food Lion in Mountain City, most just kill something and eat it. Remember Creston is very scary.

Haha jack - actually I was getting a drink from Hardee's.

countrygal - I shop there every now and then & have never seen such goings on either. I didn't stick around long for fear he might be one of those scary people from Creston jack is always talking about.

I don't know if it's a regular thing but some poor man had set up a sound system and mike in the Food Lion parking lot. He was singing "You don't know you're beautiful". I didn't hear or see much but it was pretty bizarre. Have you seen this fellow before? It didn't seem like a long performance,, perhaps they made him leave?
Please tell me this iif this is the "infamous rat man"? His heart was in it but his vocal prowess was truly lacking.
