Joe sooner or later every thread winds up about bashing me. To hear some tell it had,no riggts in 2004 nor now. This whole new school mess is about one thing catering to those outsiders who come into Ashe DEMANDING that the county cater to them. Just like the fit throwing about that snowstorm last winter when those short term renters could not go this county is doing too much catering to those well to dos while tryibg to drive out tge shall we say locals. Its good enough if the poor families put their children on a vus running the northern end of the county but heaven forbid the pampered little darlings of the monied have to ride those same buses. The facts as I understabd them is school enrollment has been dropping for years in this county. The baby boomers have grown up and many have chosen on 1 or 2 children or none at all. I went to old schools for 12 years, first Elkland, then Beaver Creek, abd those buildings had no effect on my learning. Children can learn just as well in an old building as in a new one, its only the looks that change. Now as both a grabdmother, and a greatgrandmother at least I can have an opinion about things in that school. Lets not forget I have family that has driven abus for many years, and some others still working in the school system. I could want an ermine violin but I see no reason to want to own one. Seems to me if those commissions want to pay for a new building then LET THEM PAY FOR IT out of their pockets. Just like that money pit airport stop catering to the few people who can afford to use it and start looking out for the long term county residents. Most of us don't ask this county for much. But we know supposedly I am "stupid" but I thought tge brain was for using not to impress the monied elite.
