What "story"? I generously gave the man a C for every thing outside of healthcare and have said repeatedly I'm not a big Obama fan. I actually agree that he should have put restrictions on the bailout money!

He saved the banks? I'm seeing more and more that you don't know crap about economics. He handed them a big pile of cash with no restrictions. They gave themselves bonuses. Yeah... he saved banks...

But you are backpedaling hardcore now. Your story is falling apart.

Obama didnt give the banks crap. He only took credit for it. Most of those banks failed anyway were you paying attention.

And if you read my posts more carefully you'd see that the B grade I gave Obama was only for healthcare. Otherwise, he was only a C President in my book, though I do admire his integrity and intelligence compared to trump's.

The "one other thing":
"I also think Obama deserves credit for navigating our country through the worst recession in many decades. He was handed a **** hand from the day he stepped into his job as far as the economy. He saved the banks and Wall Street-something I would think you republicans would actually approve of."

And the presumptions I made about your situation were based upon the timeframe of the ACA rollout...ya see? Of course mandated coverage was the dead giveaway there.

I'm glad you could get affordable insurance before Obamacare, I however could not get ANY coverage at ANY price because of that pesky pre-existing condition I had. Not BS, truth. I lived it and it was terrifying.

Does that clear things up?

I'm a professional. I'm well capable of drinking and still mentally outperforming 95% of people. You're the one going in circles, not me. Now come on, stop running away from the question.

I think you must be well into your NYE drinking - alcohol messes withe brain . I've had some wine myself. Perhaps we can discuss more rationally and clear headed tomorrow.

Happy 2020! It's gonna be a doozy!

No one was mandated to buy coverage before Obama.

You said Obama did a better job than trump. So tell me how. All you've gotten so far is one thing that destined to bankrupt the nation's healthcare. Come on, if he did good enough to get a B grade from you, there has to be more than one thing.

ashehomegrrl

You may be younger, healthier and without a pre existing condition unlike me so we're in different situations., You may have been mandated to get coverage (?) If my assumptions are true you were forced to buy a policy that cost around $250/monthly. So, maybe it's not a big deal to you but it's my #1 priority as a voter this year and was Obama' s single biggest legislative achievement...hard not to note in any analysis of the man.

Healthcare excluded - read the bottom of my last post about the recession, banking, etc

It's weird being put in a position to defend someone I didn't really love as President due to his centrist moderate ways. I don't want to be an Obama defender - I think he tried hard, was a smart man and had a moral conscience however.

I said listing "healthcare" isn't an option. Come on, list some actual specific things. If he was so good, you should be able to list actual things he did.

And I've Was always self employed and could find insurance for less than now. So that's BS too.

Please understand and try to appreciate this: Were it not for Obamacare/ACA I would have no way to even have the privilege of paying $1200 a month to be insured. Just as he rolled it out all of my COBRA from my ex husband's job had run it's course. I was self employed and I had applied to every health insurance company you can imagine. They all said no and my only possible solution was the state's highest risk pool and it was looking doubtful that even they would take me.

It's called having a pre-existing condition. Being uninsured and paying out of pocket for meds and doctors was unimaginable and would have bankrupted me. So, yeah, I am personally grateful to Obama for that but there are millions more of pre-existing condition me's out there.
So yes I think it was a great thing that he did - taking a meaningful step towards universal coverage for all (something I think I've mentioned a time or two in here as a huge priority for me morally and personally).

I also think Obama deserves credit for navigating our country through the worst recession in many decades. He was handed a **** hand from the day he stepped into his job as far as the economy. He saved the banks and Wall Street-something I would think you republicans would actually approve of.

Trumps deficit is no really any more than Obama's was. So you are obviously playing politics again and not honest. And you still haven't listed any specific things that Obama did that you think were so great.

I did misread the post. Liquor at the time clouded my vision at that time and it will again soon. 1200 a month is the norm honey. Thank good ole obama

ashehomegrrl

Jack - you misunderstood. I said I pay $1200/month for my health insurance. The meds are covered under that plan so the max I pay out of pocket is $60 a prescription (after I meet the bone crushing deductible in January). I feel sure my health insurer hates me because they have to cover the cost the rest of the year - they aren't making much money from my policy.

I'll get to your little Obama/democrat rant in a while.

I did not ask you to list all of your meds on here. You specifically said you were paying 1200.00 bucks for 1 medication. I asked you questions about the drug and told you to tell me what it is. So far you have side stepped it. I may can help you, god knows you need it.

Let me guess: you guys probably think Obama was a Muslim? During his time in office I spoke to quite a few people around here that were certain that was the case.

And your wonderful current President - the fellow who pushed this idea? His big signature legislative achievement has been to give tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy...he's the one bankrupting the country with nearly a trillion $ deficit. Plus he's a climate change denier who doesn't care if he destroys the environment for future generations. I just don't trust a person in a position of great power who ignores science and rational proven facts.

No you didn't. Stop lying.

ashehomegrrl

Posted 9:19 am, 12/31/2019

Fins, I gave specifics a few posts down and as I said - not a huge Obama fan anyway.

Jack - I am not going to list the meds I take on a public forum for your amusement. That would just be silly.

I love how when you ask people that praise Obama to name something he did, they can never give a specific example. The best they can do is say healthcare, even though they don't know any details of healthcare.

The drug girly. You seem to be side stepping all of a sudden.
