Most newspapers these days wwaayy over inflate circulation numbers. It could very well be part of that 2,000 are papers they put out on racks for individual sale. Print weeklies are useless in the digital age, unless you’re just gonna snowball digital stories the day of publication. That obit revenue is all fine and well until the last blue hair dies.

I could start printing a news paper with my printer and title it “Fins’ News Journal” and could sell more than 2000 subscriptions.

I recently heard from someone in their Boone office that circulation has dropped below 2000 subscribers. I wonder if their advertisers are aware of this?

Heard of thanking junior reporters. First responders and veterans, yes. I’ll be sure to thank the bank teller too.

They went from reporters sitting in the office with their feet propped up on the desk to missing in action.

So, AP&T posted (about an hour ago) what has to be the most pathetic attempt I've ever seen for attention.
"What do you do when your Staff Writers miss the company Thanksgiving Dinner ..because they are filling a 48 page Thanksgiving Edition for our Community? You get up at 4:00 a.m. to make them their own Thanksgiving Dinner. If you see Luke, Colin or Ian out this week tell them what a great job they do on our Ashe Post & Times every issue. Bringing you the up to date News, Sports and Events."
So please, while your home, lining your birdcages or cleaning up after your dogs with our "fine" publication, if you see one of us actually milling around the county for a change, please tell us what a "fine" job we're doing.
