Hello I'm confused and maybe someone can help me. Is there an animal called a cannon? I read fodder is feeding animals some type of food stuff and I am wondering what type of animal is a cannon. I know scientists have been experimenting with making animals and I thought maybe they made one an animal, I thought they made a new animal and I missed it. Been a little busy lately coming down so if I missed anything can some one please let me know

billymountain - you are right, well partially right anyway....I WAS cannon fodder. Not any more, though. I was proud to do my time, and seeing your post underscores why I was cannon fodder. It makes me proud to be part of the reason you can come on this site and belittle those who fought to give you the right to say what you want. You are welcome! Husker, some of us here have called for a change for years. Simple but effective changes like dual signatures and audits. Not more power for another mouth breathing bureaucrat and pooling all the fire taxes together and letting her decide how to divy it out. Especially when the person handling the money would be answering to the county manager who would be answering to the commissioners.

Something isn't working because as you pointed out the boards consist of hose jockeys instead of members of the fire district. And as I pointed out no audits are done.

Ok sonny and infantile grunt I know nothing about this new system but I wasn't born yesterday. By all accounts posted on here fraud has occured in 3 departments so something isn't working. When something isn't working you change it.

The money belongs to the community of each the departments cover. Those communities elected to be taxed to fund their departments and what the rate is. Let them handle their money instead of adding more bureaucracy. Watauga uses pretty much the same system and as far as I know, the only department they have had an issue at was Todd, the one shared with Ashe.

This infantry grunt ain't afraid of any audit. In fact, I encourage one! Audits are good for everyone but the crooks. This proposed system doesn't address audits. In fact, the more money sitting in one place does nothing but encourage dishonesty. And, the proposed system would provide another avenue for graft and corruption.....namely the board members, whoever they may be. Patty should sit down and shut up!

Remember there's a commissioner that's the first house liaison that's supposed to go to the board meetings and see there budgets. I agree there should be an audit. But if the mouth breathers would do their jobs and read the budgets and make the frat houses turn in their reports most of these issues would never get past a a pack of gum
