Ah, there it is. The vendetta against our good clerk and the DA raises it's ugly head again.

I love the entertainment I get on this site, hahahaha still my praise goes to Perry, she has b*@T of STEEL only one that will stand up to the others, I worked in corporate America, I worked in Government, thank goodness I am now retired and have the pleasure of watching this play out, with my education and work history, I still say Perry was the only one that had the studious nature to question this pay raise, these county employees had no leverage, they were not going anywhere else seeking a better paying job, where the **** else would they go? Just a promise Hartley, Barlow and Horner made Goodbye Bucky you are history with no legacy in Ashe County. Sorry if I offended anyone, NOT, but if Bucky has a history or legacy tell me please what it is?

Looks like the backers of the crooked will have to vote for decent human beings if they vote at all. If there is a group out there that can not support any of our county commissioner candidates ......wow ......what does that say about that group.

One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics, is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

If you don't vote who are you really hurting? For our system of government to work the population needs to vote and engage with the folks who are elected in presenting their thoughts on any given topic. I've heard more than one elected official speak about how important it is to hear from the citizens, that with out the individual voter reaching out the official only hears what the paid lobbyist and special interest groups are spinning. I've asked the question of Burr and Fox in the past when they were new in their offices how many folks actually reached out to voice their opinion, they both related that if they got 50 calls on any one subject they felt that the input had been very heavy.

If you don't vote you don't get to complain or defend who ever is elected.

Are those the same people who gave us the crooked three? Roark, Rose, and Perry? It would be a real shot in the arm to the citizens of Ashe if that crowd never supported another candidate for commissioner. The tax payers are going to be paying legal bills for years because of the mess made by those three self serving parasites.

Heard several people say they couldn’t vote for any commissioners on the ballot, republican or Democrat! I know democrats aren’t on the primary ballot ( before some of you know it alls jump on it)

Perry is nothing more then a warm body sitting in that seat. Now she can see how worthless she really is.

My bail bondsman was on vacation. Took a while to get ahold of him. Long story

Heels, I believe some of these posters never had a close relationship with reality.

Good to see you back on site Fins. I was concerned that you might have been laid up in some hospital. As you can see......some of these posters did not become more informed in your absence.

Actually Clifton you are wrong. I am not sure if this was the right move for the ACSO because it was an emotional one and not a logical one, but it is not out of the norm. Most companies have a rehire policy because they want the best talent possible. It is an excellent recruitment tool in a job market that people do not stay at a job for 30 years like the past generations. I attended a conference that outlined how much money you can save by reestablishing a former employees benefits versus lost productivity in hiring someone new.

This just shows how out of touch that people are in Ashe with how the real world is working.

No one said they are under state policies. try to keep up. State examples have been cited to prove that it does happen in some jobs. Perry is a dumb*** trying to compare private sector jobs to government jobs. Especially after being one of the ones responsible for creating the mess. And btw, she is wrong, some companies will allow employees to return at the same level they left. GE is one company that allows this in some of their divisions, or at least used to. I dont know if they still do.

Personally, I dont have a problem with the people getting restored to previous levels. However, I do have an issue with making such a change to the employment policy for a one time problem.

Why do some of you keep implying county employees are under state employment policies. They are NOT. County personnel policies are based on state policies. Sands, Rhodes, and McNeil made up a personnel committee just to give them a cover for their actions. ( I know there was a previous personnel committee but it wasn’t formally official until these three made it so).

Perry is right. In private companies, you quit, are terminated, fired, or whatever, you are not reinstated at same level and or new level.

Remember what Hartley said at his swearing in,” I don’t fire people, they fire themselves “. Wasn’t that the quote. So therefore it was the employees fault they got fired.

If Bucky doesn’t win, then will this little group shut up and let Sherriff Department do their job!!!!

Perry didnt stand for anything other than trying to cover her own ***. If she voted with this plan she would have been admitting her own screw up by putting Bufurt in office.

We've covered this already. Many jobs do allow people to return in a certain time and return with their tenure. I believe it was explained that some state jobs allow this. As for private sector jobs, this isnt even a comparison, because they are private companies. They can do anything they want.

Personally, Im sick and tired of hearing people complain about burglaries not being solved. The fact is that our judicial system was designed to do everything possible to protect the innocent. With that, it protects the guilty too. You cant just accuse someone of theft and they be arrested on your word. If you want something done about someone stealing from you, then you do things to be able to identify your property, like recording serial numbers. Dont blame the law enforcement because they arent willing to just take your word and lock someone up.

I think Perry should be investigated for her part in the entire 2017 mess. Bufurt, Yearick's golden parachute, and Roark' maintenance job. It smells like corruption to me. Her vote against bringing our county personnel policy up to state standards is shameful..

It is not uncommon for private industry to have re-employment policies and procedures. Are they as generous as the ones being voted in by the commissioners? Some yes most no. I see the current actions of the commissioners as an acknowledgement of the very poor job they did when handling the transition in the Sheriff's office. I also see Perry's vote as her way to saying she feels that the Bufurt decision was the correct decision, nothing if not consistency on her part.

You mean after she voted Buchanan in and created the mess.

I don't think government employees should be given benefits that the private sector does not give though. In fact we should make government employment as uncomfortable as possible. That way folks stay in it the least amount of time possible.

Does anyone not CARE? if you worked for any of the four major employers of the county, do you really think you could go back and ask for same rate of pay or better pay and benefits, with that I say you go Perry, the only one with *#(T& to stand UP and say Sands you are an idiot the FORMER employees of ACSO do NOT deserve special raises and treatment they might know the difference in Creston and Todd but did they patrol and meet the residents? did they solve your stolen goods? did they file reports? Did you as a citizen feel represented? Did they give up their job voluntarily? Did they perform their duties as to the best of their abilities? Did they consider a deaf and blind man? Did they consider a man that would never try to harm them? Did they think they ruled the county and could do no wrong?
