Btw, every lowes I've been in has sanitary wet wipes at the entrance with the shopping carts.

You will definitely get better service at the garden center in Smethport. Better advice also.

Do snakes eat birds? Or only their eggs? I like birds better, I like bird poop better than snakes.(yes, I know ,nobody cares).

Well. Shop somewhere else. Lowes will be okay without your hard earned money.

****, They don't have walls and doors, they have a fence. How many nurseries and garden centers have you ever seen that weren't outside?

I am not OCD or a whiner. I am just a normal guy who would prefer to not have to walk through or handle bird crap in large quantities when spending my hard earned money. The garden center is outdoors but it has a roof, walls, and a door that they lock at night or when not in use. All of that can be done but they won't make it bird proof. That section has become like shopping in the bottom of someone's parrot cage. As we were leaving the other day my partner and I decided that we would not shop there again. I'm so normal that I find it hard to believe these conditions exist in the 21st century and that some folks defend it. Amazing. Also amazing is that after only a few posts I have been hit with labels. i challenge you to raise the bar on this site not lower yourselves to name calling.

So you think they are spreading the bird flu over there?

I don't mind the birds. It's the Copperheads that worry me.

I've never seen a garden center or nursery that wasn't outside and didn't have birds around it. It's stuff for outdoors. And I've never heard of any time of issue with people getting sick from a lowes store. You are either OCD and afraid of germs, or a whiner that can't be happy

And here is another option. You can shop somewhere else.

As a footnote: i asked if they had anything to clean my hands with and the only option was a dry paper towel. Reminds me I need to go clean my car trunk.

You are right in that every park and picnic shelter is a potential health hazard. But when I go to those I have a reasonable expectation those conditions may exist since I am in nature and that's where the birds live. I should not have to walk on aisles covered in the feces of any species nor select the products I want with the only option being completely covered in feces. Then if you buy something and place the feces covered product in your cart then it is contaminated. Then the cashier has to handle it and then interact with the public. Then the next customer maybe has a baby that gets placed in the cart or someone with a compromised immune system. The list goes on. This problem is so unnecessary. Put up some bird netting. Hard to believe we accept these conditions to buy garden supplies.

Why would it be a health hazard? That would mean every park and picnic shelter would also be a health hazard.

I was shopping at Lowe's and was amazed at how many birds are in the garden center. The items

I went to purchase were all covered in bird crap. How is this acceptable and not some form of a public health hazard. Leave your dogs at home and bring your cats and let them roam the garden center. It couldn't do anything but help.
