Southern Scoops (The Dairy House) New Owners Fire Employee because of where they live???

I find it hard to believe someone would fire you for where you live. Something doesn't add up.

Now it is a Right to Work state and technically you can do it, but you'd also be paying unemployment. There has to be a lot more to the story than that.

I know Mark and Tammy. This is a lie. Pure and simple.

Not buying this. There is definitely more to the story.

You dont think that it was her that was fired from the scoop joint do you? LOL

That just reminded me of that special Ashe county holiday that is just around the corner on February 15 Track hoe day!

I thought it was the drop cord she was running from the house they made her disconnect????

Actually, didn’t she get in trouble because she didn’t have water or sewer on the camper? If memory serves, she told the health department she was living in the house

I dont think that ordinance will stand up in court if the camper is properly parked and hooked up.

Fins, Pointman and I know of a situation on gum ridge where a woman lived in a pop up camper. So there are no ordinances in Ashe or Allehgany, and I can name many more places such as Wild Woodys.

how does a yadkin county ordinance apply?

While looking at zoning in Yadkin county prior to a land auction, I found a county ordinance that forbids living full-time in a camper there.

Blackey just how many people has this story been through before you brought it to us?

In NC you as an employer can fire an individual because you don't like his or her looks. This Tale does not add up more to it than living in a camper. There was a man living in a tent along the Yadkin River in North Wilkesboro and worked at Tyson for 5 years.

I’d say something being fishy was exactly the problem. Blacky, where does this camper get their water and just what do they do with the septic waste?

Call BS if you want! I know NC is an Hire at will State, but this is ridiculous! I sincerely hope the employee seeks legal advice or gets assistance from someone! Again, Shame on these new owners!!!

Please, find out for yourself! I hope the employee gets some assistance from someone on this! Maybe a News outlet would investigate???

Someone call the dairy joint and ask them if they would like to respond. Something fishy about this one. Notice the op has disappeared.

I can't imagine why they would fire someone for living in a camper. I would like to know the whole story.

I might have to call BS on this thread..I for one think there's more to the story that isn't being told... I suppose time will tell.
