Again, that was in Florida. Their laws and court rulings have absolutely nothing to do with Ashe County Schools.

Stupy, I’m not spinning anything. You better read it again.
The judge said there was no constitutional obligation on the part of either law enforcement or the school to protect.

I didn’t misread anything. You’re just spinning it. The SRO was not required to enter per policy...he “may” but did not have to. The ruling just supports the way the policy WAS written. It has been changed to require the police, including the SRO, to actively intervene in an active shooter incident. But with your anti police attitude, you’ll spin it to the most negative slant.

That incident, and the subsequent court ruling was in Florida. It has nothing to do with Ashe County, North Carolina, or the laws here. It also has nothing to do with policies put in place by any local Sheriff. A Sheriff in North Carolina may hire deputies with the specific duty , and responsibility to protect students and staff.

I don’t think the sheep were aware of reality regarding the SROs.

you misread the ruling. The sheriff’s department wording wasn’t the problem. The judge also ruled the school has no duty to protect. It wasn’t about a job description.

It's just that this is not news. Most people were already aware of this.

Part of the change says an officer responding to a shooting "shall" intervene in a situation in order stop the attacker, according to the letter, which was obtained by NBC News. Previous language said an officer "may" intervene.

I agree Joseph, yet times are so different. Different values, and levels of maturity.

Funny you say that since when I was in High school it was pretty common to see trucks in the parking lot with rifles and shot guns hanging in the back window. Lots of kids in carpentry built crossbows and it wasn't uncommon to see a kid in industrial arts class making a leather hostler for his pistol and using said pistol for the mold to shape the leather. We would also go out during Horticultural class and shoot skeet And never once did anyone every get shot.

Seeing how the county is heck bent on building the new middle school I am betting they cut any security measures. Anyone want some of that action?

How about "arming" the schools with some mental health specialist and prevent shootings....stop trying to react to shootings.
