Lottery money is a scam because if the county gets a million in lottery funds, the state cuts a million from the county's general fund budget. I predicted it when the lottery started and the democrats that prey on the power said that would never happen. They've eaten their words every school year.

Ashe got 1.2 million in 2020, Alleghany got 703K, and Watauga got 2 million in lottery funds.

If you had listen to the board member, he said due to family reasons he would be resigning. Maybe someone in his family is sick. He might be dealing with health issues himself. It is no secret that other counties pay more than Ashe. It is also no secret Ashe receives less funding than some other school systems. Ashe receives little to no money from the NC Educational Lottery.

One of the Ashe BOE turned in his resignation last night. Teachers, coaches, BOEs all bailing. Coincidence I guess.
