I think Baldwin's Pawn Shop is part of the building ground floor also. It looks like they are still open for business.

No mention of its future but it too could a separate issue for the new owner.

There are some mighty fishy players emerging from this sale. Starting with the realtor, the Woodies, and the new clown owner. No one in their right mind are going to believe the Tavern would operate and spend the money they have spent without a lease be it in writing or verbal.

According to an article in the Post, the Woodie family now has a counterclaim against the Tavern owners.

I see Mr Beck continues to maintain his reputation (based on several past court cases).

I'm pretty such erecting such signs if they do hurt the business is a breach of the agreement to delay the court case......you know where in they were required to maintain the status quo......

If someone did beat his *** probably deserved it......

Not one little bit. This is the middle of all the leaf peepers soon to be the xmas tree hunters filling the place up.

Are the DANGER signs Beck placed in the Tavern's windows hurting their business?

I've got a feeling that no one is going to win on this one. I expect to see the hotel for sale again in a year

Tabs and I are on the same page. I think the clown owner has already started making life miserable for the Tavern. Remember that the only in and out of the hotel is at the rear where the tavern uses the door way and bottom of the steps for their hostess and they cross back and fourth drinks from the bar. So watch for the clown to start making life heck for the Tavern.

I still say and I am still betting that the Tavern is kicking themselves for not buying the building.

I don't think the zoning is an issue. I thought I saw something once about a historic structure can be restored to original use without a zoning variance.

If they win he most likely wont be able to do any renovations that affect their business until their lease is up. Then there is the zoning issue that someone talked about earlier.

I can't see a scenario where the Tavern comes out a winner in this. How can they operate a restaurant while he is in there doing renovations? He will make their life **** if they stay.

Might as well cut their losses and find another location.

That only happens if you win. You still have to pay the attorney upfront and risk not getting it back. For most it won't be worth it

I'd probably go to a lawyer if I was them given this dirty trick and force him to pay them for their contracts....

I doubt it's worth it to any others to go through the expense to sue. They can probably find office space easier than dealing with court.

Other than the 1 mentioned in the ashe county line article I've not paid attention either so I'm not sure.

I've never paid attention to who is in the second floor. Anyone know who the other tenants are?

I think I'd sue for breach of contract if I was the occupants....all of them....or file briefs in the existing lawsuit asking to join it. Though I'm not sure you'd want them all combined into one lawsuit. This guy has made it clear he doesn't care about the county, it's current residents, etc. Not to mention that location still isn't zoned property for what he wants and I suspect all these people he's pissing off will show up and make sure he can never get it rezoned......
