I like Jim all right. I didn’t think he was a Bufurt fan unless he was talking out of both sides of his mouth. He always struck me as a level headed Barney, but I’m just not sure about him as a commissioner. Has he ever done anything besides hold a government job? Of course, I have no doubt he would be better than Elmer Fudd.

Past and present mouth breathers have cast a cancer on the elected position of commissioner in this county. We must find upstanding honest citizens to run besides what we have and the ones thinking about running.

Is it possible to petition the general assembly and dissolve the board of commissioners? Allow all decisions to be managerial?

Sexton, Powers and/or Roark would be a disaster. They would try to bring Yearick back. Mochen and Wilson also make me nervous. I think they were both Buchanan fans.

Let me take the masks off the remaining three that are considering a run for commissioner.

Fairplay mine and fins sources are saying more then just Mooch, Fudd, and Powers. Our sources are always correct.

Other sources are saying you are incorrect and he’s talking about running.

If you don’t think I’m right, why else would Mooch want in politics?

He says he has absolutely NO INTEREST in running for anything. Where do you get this stuff? Why don't you just call him and ask him? Or better yet, go see him, and ask him in person?

He’s a Flor... Moves to the middle of nowhere, almost off grid rly, with a background in law enforcement... Florida is close to Cuba, which is close to Colombia... I’ve seen many a plane fly from Fort Myers/Sarasota to Ashe via FlightAware. Guy pours millions into a failed campaign for sheriff, then decides to buy a hole in the wall to host clogging competitions?

But with a liquor license, he can ditch the church ladies and tap into some real spenders.

Mooch must be trying to cash in on the big church crowd.

I would have to believe that as bad a butt whooping Mooch got in the last election he would be broke from politics.

I don’t think a lot of drinkers go to dinner theater. Anyone who thinks that’s entertaining probably doesn’t even consume caffeine.

Do you know what the profit margin is on alcohol? No one in the hospitality business would prefer to do it without alcohol sales if they have the option. It’s what keeps most restaurants profitable.

With Rhodes and Sands said not to be running next election, I hope some good candidates step up on the Republican side because we all know a Dem hasn't got a chance in the general election. Is it possible Roark could slip through the primary?

I’m also hearing that the Mooch hasn’t given up on a political career. Interesting that he would now consider running for commissioner after buying the theater. What is he after? County wide liquor sales?

Why the hurry to ascribe nefarious intent to someone so quick? His theatre seems to be doing well, and is bringing money into Ashe. I have seen no intent of self dealing. In fact, he has said he thinks it is a more peaceful and enjoyable destination without liquor.

Least we forget that elmer fudd brought us bufurt and supported him until the bitter end. Remember the sightings of bufurt and Roark meeting in the parking lot of the court house.

Lets keep Elmer Fudds deeds in the news on this site. He started the asphalt plant suit that has cost us 100's of thousands, he gave Yearick his golden parachute, he had Yearick give him a job with the county. We could go on and on about Elmer Fudd.

Who would vote for Roark after what he did last time?
