Think cops and firemen have a dangerous job?

FSO

Posted 4:28 pm, 05/12/2019

This is why training and the best equipment is a must. Incidents like this happen everyday in small towns and cities all across America. 58,000 firefighters were seriously injured in 2017 and another 7,400 were affected by chemical fires. Fire fighting is not the most dangerous job, but it is still dangerous.

Just curious, exactly where in the Old and New Testament, and US Constitution, is there a reference to prohibition of “drunk driving”?

Not between the hours of 12:30am and 5:00am. It should be illegal for sober people to drive during those hours.

Fins,
I bet you don’t think drunk driving should be a crime do you?

Fins,
So now you dispute the statistics and I thought you were all about statistics.

Oh it’s very accurate that you’ve fallen for propaganda. Just like you fell for a number that includes every skinned knee

Fins,
I found this in 20 seconds,
Every day, 28 people die as a result of drunk driving crashes on average. In 2010, 10,228 people died in drunk driving crashes " one every 52 minutes " and 345,000 were injured. ... Of 1,210 traffic deaths among children ages 14 and younger in 2010, 211 (17%) involved an alcohol-impaired driver.

Fins,
You’re smart enough to know that’s not an accurate statement.

Apparently not many because no where seems to report the number. You’ve fallen for the propaganda again

Fins,
How many are injured daily by drunk drivers, you don’t have to die for a car wreck to ruin your life.

Jack,
I won’t be arrested because I don’t violate the law. Let them search my car without a warrant because of officer safety and I’ll have some badges and money from the county, I know my rights and I know the law.

Cowgirl, only 29 people a day die from drunk driving. You’ve fallen for a giant myth that is intended to just boost federal funding.

I just call a concubine to drive me around. Of course I have to tell her each turn to make.

Fins,
Also there’s not much of a public safety concern with someone on foot as there is with a drunk in a several thousand pound vehicle traveling 50mph.

Fins,
Nope not at all, but I thought we were talking about traffic checkpoints, I’ll show my papers as you say but their not searching my car without a warrant.

Want to bet LOL I guess you have never heard of officer safety or search incident arrest. But feel free to keep dreaming

Cowgirl, then are you ok with cops stoping you on the sidewalk and frisking you just to make sure you aren’t doing something illegal?

CowBoysFan

FWIW,

I've never understood the complaint with traffic checkpoints, I never have an issue when I go through them mainly because I have a valid drivers license, my vehicle is legal (insurance, proper tags etc.), I don't drink and drive and I don't carry dope in my car, so I don't see the complaint. I do however know what it's like to be hit by a drunk driver and I also had an uncle killed by a drunk driver (back before it was considered a crime). My thing is if their checkpoint keeps one family a year from loosing a loved to a drunk driver, then the law should do more of them.

billy and jack,

So neither of you can explain how a thread about traffic checkpoints inspired a post about statistical data concerning workplace injuries and fatalities.

Leave it to a Cowboys fan to screw that’s one up. Dumb in sports and life. Never fails.
