Trash sites, dogs and cats and homeless people

Luke 6:31

You just proved my point. Most people are good. The negative posts all come from a few small minded, bitter individuals.

Ironic ain't it

So... you don't judge but you came to the conclusion that there aren't as many good people in Ashe as you had hoped there would be because you don't like what you read on a website??

Don't give up hope, July. There are good people in Ashe County. Most of them are just put off by the rude remarks of some people's posts. It is a shame some people use these sites to post rude and thoughtless comments. I want to welcome you to Ashe County and hope you will connect to the really good people here.

Sometimes people just get down on their luck. A real southern baptist is taught that it is not our place to judge but to help those in need. It would be nice to have a soup kitchen and also a pay it forward system. Once someone has been picked back up on their luck then they can pay it forward to the next person that is down on their luck. I hate seeing GA being so judgmental. Being new to the area I was hoping for more just good people in this county. Sad.

Or, here's a novel idea. You could take the words of Christ seriously and go out there and actually help people yourself instead of waiting for others to take care of it for you.

There should be some way to help the homeless people in Ashe County. If not from tax revenue, then perhaps through the work of nonprofits with grants and donations.

Like Billy said, did they ask for funds?

Watauga funds the Hospitality House for Ashe and surrounding counties to ship their homeless to. So yeah, trash and stray dogs are more important.

Did they make a request for funds?

Ashe has a difficult time paying for the services provided by DSS mandated by the state. If there is a not for profit out there who attempts to assist the homeless population they are to be commended. I do not feel that tax dollars should be given to independent not for profits without some sort of over sight by the agency providing the funds.

Its not my problem to provide the homeless with money or a place to live with my tax dollars. Put them in your house or load them up and carry them to a warmer state.

Ashe Co. Spent $520,000 paving the dumpster sites, over $226,000 went to animal control...but $0. went to providing Ashe Co. Coalition for the Homeless. So garbadge and dogs are worth almost 3/4 of a million dollars but several dozen homeless humans are worth nothing??? When a homeless person or persons die because of this hope those who alloted $0. and would not even discuss the issue remember...God will!
