That actually might be a good location. It would be on the Watauga side to draw from Boone and Blowing Rock. And it's out of the city limits so it would be limited restrictions to deal with. Also the area probably wouldn't be as bad as the neighbors the gun club has to fight.

OP I know a place that may be the perfect spot for you store a gun range in Deep Gap. Its where the old JM wrecker service use to be. That place and one or two other adjoining property's are for sale and it has a large building already on it and it would take much grading in the back to make the gun range.

He must have failed in running a range, hes now working for a Podunk real estate firm. You would be better off asking the guy that ran for sheriff from FL. Who was it steve something proud owner of the Blue Ridge theater.

There is someone in Ashe who has experience in opening and operating gun ranges gleaned from time in Florida. You could ask Joe C, from Mountainscape realty for his thoughts on this topic.

Todd if you have 100 grand to sink in a gun range let me show you how to invest it and make 5% to 7%.

Sometimes it is not all about making money, but taking on a challenge and making it work. I could have retired in the early '80's and lived off my investments (very early Lowes stock purchase mainly) but chose to open several businesses over the years. Some made great money, some lost money, and some were just OK. I am more satisfied by doing that and the blood, sweat, and tears that went with it that I would be if I had just set back and counted my money

If it's done well, I think that there's a ton of potential for a nice gun range. I wish there was somewhere like in Vegas that lets you try out different guns for an hourly fee plus ammo, that would be very fun! And people would be likely to buy more expensive guns once they get to play with them a little.

The only thing the club buys is skeet targets which is paid for by shotgun discipline

aFicIoNadoS

That's not what I was referring to. Look at club purchases

How is a member buying their own stuff with their own money robbing the gun club?

aFicIoNadoS

The gun club needs to have a detailed audit. Y'all are being robbed by some of your own members

Jr made a good point and brings up another with reloading a store that carry's a good supply of primers, Brass, Bullets and both black powder and smokeless powder for those of us that reload. I know lots of lots of gun club members that order online or travel to other county's and to Tenn to get their supply's. It would be nice to be able to by primers by the 1000s at a good price locally. Then there's the skeet targets that the gun club buys by the truck load
