No, they are not public record. Unless you are the person the protection order is against or the person that filed it, pretty sure the sheriff's department won't tell you anything.

Domestic violence orders are not criminal but they aren't closed, either. You could call but I doubt they'd tell you over the phone. You might have to go over and look for yourself.

Another family member,beat her constantly, He is an arrogant,obsessive bully .I have been told this is a pattern with him,wondered if there was anyway to find out if other DVOs have been taken out on him

it is a domestic violence order,similar to a restraing order but it is against a spouse,boyfriend or family member
