They have been tossing money down the drain for so long, it has now become the "norm".. And I don't look for any major changes from this new group...From what I have read and heard the case load is so great, they just pass it on thru with little to no investigation of actual eligibility.

That would require dss to actually work for us agent. We know they wont do that.

If it is that apparent to everyone, why does DSS not clamp down on the scammers? It is just more money pithing. The Mouth Breathers have jut been rolling along on cruise control. Hopefully the new group can separate the wheat from the chaff in these programs. We need the programs, but we don't need to be funding able bodied leeches.

If the parking lot at Family Central is any indication, there were plenty of young, able-bodied types lining up for the gravy train. Yeah, 10% is "a little conservative." Again I wonder how humanity survived before heating assistance? I wonder who helped the first settlers in this area heat their homes?

I could qualify if I decided I didn't want to work. I would NEED help then. The taxpayers should not let me go cold just because I don't want to work. It's easy to fall into the legitimate "need" category; just sit on my butt.

There are people a-plenty at family central. I'm very appreciative to for DSS and Blue Ridge Electric for assisting those in need. My heart goes out to most of them. However, there are a few people attempting to rip off the system.

Well main thing is you're doing all you can to help....

People of that ilk take the donation and also apply for the assistance. Sometimes using a couple different names to get more than just a little help.

Well agent if you go ahead and make a private donation to her, she wouldn't have to wait in line...
