King, you should know by now, that this site is all about a few people that that just want to impress everyone with there brilliance. It is not about concerns of our community. They could care less.

If this site's community voice is really about the community, then why has there not been any support for the Weaver family that had their home burn down and lost every thing? They have a three year old son and they need local support. They need clothes and other personal items. I sincerely hope that this site is really all about our community. These folks need help. People that live here know who they are, so lets do what you can to help them out. I think this is what GoAshe community voice should be about.

Just to clarify, Fins, you're talking about the EDC board members, where I'm talking about the directors.

Back to an earlier point. I always find it ironic when people claiming to support vets are offended when someone shares an opinion they don't agree with. It's almost as ironic as the vets that claim they fought for freedom that don't think other people have the right to say certain things unless they enlisted too.

Btw, it was a vet that taught me about the true meaning of freedom of speech back during the Clinton administration when that guy made the news burning a flag in front of the WWII memorial.

I stick by most, and I'll explain why. Local commissioners appoint local prominent business owners to the EDC boards. Now while these entrepreneurs have been successful on the local, and sometimes small regional levels, rarely do any of them have any experience with big business or manufacturing. They don't grasp global markets. And then they hire someone right out of college to be the director. This person has no experience in how any business works. Then they hire private consulting firms to come in and do a report on the county to tell them what potential recruits would look for. Well, these firms charge big money. So they don't want to say, "the reality is that no company is going to move to your county when the county closer to the interstate highway is full of empty industrial facilities that they are willing to give away". So they dress up a report. Tell them what things attract businesses, leave out what would keep them from actually considering the area, and then send the EDC off to spend more money to try to buy and build the amenities that the report said they should have.

Well,to be fair on one point, most of the economic developers and the EDC board members in the area's counties don't have a clue on how to recruit business or what a potential business is looking for in an area. So, be careful putting too much stock in their praise.

Go Ashe to avoid some of the rumors going around, I hereby grant you permission to publicly display all the usernames I have used on this site..

Honest statements are supported by facts and I have yet to see any proof of most of the libel stated on this site. Yes, shame on me for posting on here tonight.
